With the Extended Wiki Navigation, it adds so much more. But sadly, you can't just edit O the Wiki with the MediWiki page you do it. Like the Terraria Wiki or Club Penguin wiki, they modified the section. How do you do that, with a staff or what? MyCool64 My Official Wiki Wiki II 07:30, November 24, 2012 (UTC)

I think it is a mediawiki page. SpadeThrow37 08:44, November 24, 2012 (UTC)
Best if you ask an admin on one of those sites how they did it. But unfortunately Wikia staff have made it very clear in the past that they do not allow editing of that section in any form. I know several wikis that have changed that section when the new navigation was first introduced in Wikia Labs and then had their changes undone by staff and the ability to edit that section was taken away. I'm not aware of any change in WIkia policy since then, but it would be very nice if we could customize that space somewhat. ~~Ууp <talk> 12:45, November 24, 2012 (UTC)
I believe you can add a Recent Changes button beside the Wiki Activyt, but I don't know how to do it.Lachlan5963.png 13:20, November 24, 2012 (UTC)
"But unfortunately Wikia staff have made it very clear in the past that they do not allow editing of that section in any form. "
Exactly how long in the past was that? Because fairly recently they have indicated that it is permitted. -452 17:13, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
As I said, when it was first introduced. ~~Ууp <talk> 17:14, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
No, sadly On the Wiki can't be edited without epic JS and policy-dodging. Cat (meowhunt) 21:18, November 24, 2012 (UTC)
Who told you it was policy dodging? -452 17:13, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
Adding extra links to the On The Wiki tab is currently permitted.
Find a wiki which has extra links, and check their MediaWiki:Common.js to see how they do it.
I did it by looking at: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.js -452 17:13, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the shameless plug, but you could install my Wikimarks addon. Just add
importArticle({ type: 'script', article: 'u:wikimarks:Client.js' });
to your global.js and you can do with the "On the wiki" menu whatever you like. It comes with its own editor; it's completely configurable, consistent across all of Wikia and you can even add level 4 submenus.
That addon is only for personal use though. I don't think Staff would allow it wiki-wide. --  pecoes  02:28, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
Is that on w:c:dev? -- 70.24.250.26 14:32, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
No.—  Ultimate Supreme talk · wiki I · wiki II
Not yet. No. I've written it months ago, but somehow never gotten around to finish it 100% and put it on dev :(
It's well-tested though. There are about a dozen people who helped me iron out the kinks and there are no known bugs.
You know what? I'll put it on dev this week! :)

Just to reiterate here: Editing the On the Wiki tab is against the Terms of Use. This tab is meant to house links to our core features on a wiki (Chat, Video, Forums, etc) and should not have any other links. As Pecoes mentioned, Wikimarks can only be added personally, not wiki-wide. Rappy 17:54, November 26, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that!
 pecoes  18:22, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
But the Terraria wiki does it. Also is it supposed to include forums there? Because my wiki doesn't have that.... So is it ok for me to add forums there? MyCool64 My Official Wiki Wiki II 10:00, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
Rappy, take a look at support ticket 42246. I'm not allowed to repost that conversation, but during that conversation, Sarah Manley made it clear that it is permitted to add extra links to the "on the wiki" menu. I've been repeating that here to everyone who has asked since that time and no member of staff has ever posted in one of these forums posts stating otherwise until you just now. -452 15:53, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
I'm very concerned about this, because I always try to ensure I am correct and if I've been giving people incorrect information, that would completely undermine my credibility as I would be proven to not know what what I was talking about.
Here's one of the previous discussions: Forum:How_to_add_Chat_to_"On_the_Wiki"_Navigation_and_is_it_possible_to_edit_"On_the_Wiki"_Navigation?
Wait a minute Rappy, you posted in that discussion, before you were a staff member! I said the same thing then, the only difference between then and now is that you were not able to look at the support ticket yourself to verify it, so please do so and report back.
At the time, someone marked the page as "staff needed", but if you look at the page history, BertH removed that tag with the edit summary "Staff response was conveyed", as I had already relayed what Sarah Manley had said. -452 16:10, November 28, 2012 (UTC)
Also, see this. Lunarity 23:10, November 29, 2012 (UTC)
