I have troubles getting mail from Wikia. My system uses sender address verification against spammers, but this also blocks Wikia messages, because the sender of the Wikia messages are also undeliverable.

Please see this SMTP error message:

reject: RCPT from ut4.sjc.wikia-inc.com[216.224.121.151]:
450 4.1.7 <nobody@ap16.sjc.wikia-inc.com>: Sender address rejected: unverified address:
connect to ap16.sjc.wikia-inc.com[216.151.156.26]:25: Connection timed out;
from=<nobody@ap16.sjc.wikia-inc.com> to=<my@email.tld> proto=ESMTP helo=<ut4.sjc.wikia-inc.com>

This means, that the email Wikia tries to send to me is coming from nobody@ap16.sjc.wikia-inc.com, which is not a real, existing address.

Systems using sender address verification will therefore reject mail with this sender.

Could you please use a real sender address in your outgoing emails? This can be any existing deliverable address, the recipient address too. --GalosA 07:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Now the problem looks to be solved. New messages, either about changed, watched pages, or password reminders are sent with a deliverable sender. Every message are therefore accepted by mail servers using sender address verification. Thank you for your quick solution. --GalosA 14:35, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
