Recently on Wookieepedia, I noticed extra horizontal line rules and bigger heading sizes (like in this picture) that weren't there before. Is there any way to change the formatting back to how it was? The problem isn't just limited to Wookieepedia; it is on this wiki as well.

I have that also. I hope someone can explain :) Also on Lostpedia, Prison Break Wiki etc. You're not the only one. I saw this to today.--Station7 14:44, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
Looks normal to me (the headings anyway) that is just normal == Heading == size but I could be deceived. Not sure about the horizontal lines, though. --CharitwoTalk 14:46, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
I have this also on every Wiki where I come. I thought actually: what's happening, are there new guidelines in Community Central. I didn't know that. But seems that I am not the only one.--Station7 14:48, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
Agreed, that is happening at both of my wikis as well. The headings haven't changed but the horizontal lines are really annoying and have been screwing up our articles aesthetically, bunching everything together, so I hope it isn't deliberate and will be fixed soon. --Dubiel 15:31, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
This sure is strange. I wish Wikia would be more communicative with changes like this. They used to be. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:31 AM PST 30 Jun 2010
Please Wikia tell us how to revert this! This does not look good, especially under TOCs. Klow 17:01, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
To me it looks like a glitch, and it only happens for size 2 headings. The change is that the line which usually goes below the heading has been switched to go above it. Has anyone contacted Wikia about it? ~Gardimuer 17:03, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
I contacted them a while ago about it. Yes, it is the type two heading. See below. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 17:59, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Test

@Fandyllic: "They used to be"? Not in my experience they weren't. *coughTransformersWikicough*
Anyway, if this is an intentional change I will murder people. If it isn't, I hope it's fixed soon. ---Blackout- 18:07, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
Everyone: "wahhh, revert"

I also hope it's fixed soon. It just looks retarded. The type 2 heading only looks normal when editing now.--Starman125 18:33, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

For a quick "fix" - I don't know if this happened on purpose - you may want to ask a sysop of that wiki to add

   h2 { border-top: none; border-bottom: 1px solid #999999; }

into the MediaWiki:Common.css of the wikis. If the sysop won't react you may add this to your user CSS (User:YOURNAME/<skinname>.css). If there was a color change in skin definitions #999999 may be replaced, of course. -- [ defchris ] · [ Diskussion ] · 20:14, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Well, it's back to normal now, didn't even have to do that.--Starman125 20:31, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

It's back to normal for me to. :) Great job. --Station7 20:55, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Followup

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the reports here. I wanted to give you a quick explanation about what the temporary change was all about.

Over the last few weeks we've been doing some user testing, and observing how new users react to a Wikia page and editing. We noticed that users were consistently using the wrong section edit link. We hoped by changing around the h2 headers it would make it clearer which edit link applied to which section. However, we saw too many issues in the wide variety of site designs across Wikia, so we reverted the change as a result.

We're still trying to figure out what the right solution is here - you can expect to see some light changes to the section edit link soon. Feel free to continue to post here about issues you see. Thanks for all your great work! --Sarah@fandom (help forum | blog) 15:05, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be way better to bring the edit link closer to the caption instead of running a skin change through out all wikias? I'd also appreciate if there was a link to edit an article's "section 0"/introduction without adding ?action=edit&section=0 manually to the url. -- [ defchris ] · [ Diskussion ] · 14:37, July 1, 2010 (UTC)
It might also be better to ask for suggestions than all-of-a-sudden changing a major part of the UI. Moving the [edit] link just to the right of the section name seems like a good idea. Even better, make the placement customizable in preferences. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:07 AM PST 1 Jul 2010
@defchris: If you would like a button to edit the intro section of a page, you could try w:c:dev:EditIntroButton or w:c:dev:EditIntroButton2. Cheers, Grunny (talk) 23:11, July 1, 2010 (UTC)
This could easily have been prototyped on one or two big wikis through the site .css; anyone who's ever written css for their site knows this . What irked me most was that the change wasn't even reflected in the wikia versioning system; I went there to find the change that caused this, but couldn't, and some .css files that get served do seem different from the versions stored there. --◄mendel► 22:01, July 1, 2010 (UTC)
