Problem with another "Contact Wikia" form. How often should one "try again later"? I've done that at intervals over the last 25 hours. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 07:26, December 27, 2011 (UTC)

What kind of problem and which page exactly? Sarah (help forum | blog) 19:42, December 27, 2011 (UTC)

(Sorry not to reply sooner. Been offline for a few days.) I don't know what kind of problem. When I hit "Send to Wikia" I get a page that looks like this:

Contact Form Error
Special page

Something went wrong while submitting your form. Please try again later.

Return to Family History and Genealogy Wiki.

So I return to my original form and try again later. Now it's over a week later! Filled-in form has survived several shutdowns (which is probably a credit to Firefox 3). I wonder whether the form is defective. I see that it has a "Browse" button for uploading a screenshot, but it has no "upload image" button after that. The form is headed "Wikia Support - Ad report". Would a screenshot of it help?

Hey Robin - Yes there is something wrong with the bad ad which we are investigating. We also are having problems with the general and feedback page sending in screenshots. We are actively investigating and I will update here once a fix is found. For the time being, if you had a bad ad, you can send it in on the bug report page. Thanks! Thank you, Sarah. So I'm avoiding the new specific forms for a while and using "/general". I've just submitted another form on the same subject - popup ads. It went through OK. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 04:49, January 7, 2012 (UTC)

Robin, might want to try and update to the latest FireFox version. It is currently at version 9. Firefox 3 is REALLY old (like: couple of years). It may help sort your problems too.
