Hello! I would like to create a wiki in english, but I could not make it looks like "en.wiki.wikia.com". Is it possible to do it? And, if yes, can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance! --listkiewski (co?) 05:30, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Special:Contact would be the best way to ask. --KλT 05:30, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
Still, if you get an answer back from Wikia staff, please remember to come back here and post the answer. This is an interesting question. czechout    fly tardis  06:19: Fri 17 Aug 2012
By the way, I'm curious about why you want to prepend en. to your site URL. That would give you clear information about the language but in the same time the adress becomes less simple.  Cafeinlove msg 2012/8/17, 16:08 (KST)
(not the op) I think that Wikia should automatically redirect the en. address to the English wikis. It would conform to how WikiMedia works with their URLs, and how all the languages work that are not English on Wikia -- 76.65.128.252 08:15, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
For that reason I want to include en., to give clear information about which language is used there. I run projects in some different languages, and I would feel more confortable if the english version included the language prefix ;) However, if it's not possible, I will certainly understand and respect it. --listkiewski (co?) 14:50, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
Well, the way that Wikia works now is that the English version is the one which has no inter-language code in front of it. For instance w:c:doctorwho is the English language Doctor Who wiki, while w:c:es.doctorwho is the Spanish, w:c:ro.doctorwho is the Romanian, and so on. The lack of an inter-language code, in other words, does provide clarity, because it's consistently the case: w:c:lego, w:c:icarly, w:c:coffee, w:c:aybs — they're all in English. czechout    fly tardis  15:32: Fri 17 Aug 2012
@listkiewski I see. Thanks for answering my question. I was kind of surprised —that you want to put the language code— because personally, I'd want to remove it if I was able to. But I undertand it though. Good luck anyway for Staff contact! ;)  Cafeinlove msg 2012/8/18, 01:02 (KST)

I already got an answer:

"Rappy, Aug 17 03:39 pm (UTC):

Hey Krol,

Thank you for contacting Wikia. I've gone ahead and changed the wikis URL to en.conlangtionary.wikia.com. I left the old URL as a redirect. You should see this change shortly.

Hope this helps.

That's it! Thanks for your help, your kind responses, and your attention! --listkiewski (co?) 16:40, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
