The problem that I have with AWB, (just downloaded etc) is that it will not connect to ANY wiki project, and I have done all of the previously suggested hints on the forums about AWB and Wikia.
Here is the error pop up I get when attempting to enter in my Wikia wiki into the site information in preferences.
- Error Connecting to Wiki -
- An error occured while connecting to the server or loading project information from it. Please make sure that your internet connection works and such combination of project/language exist. Enter the URL in the format "en.wikipedia.org/w/" (including path where index.php and api.php reside)
Error description: 'doctype' is an unexpected token. The expected token is 'DOCTYPE'. Line 1,position 3.
I have attempted to look for the information on google, but have only came up with a few hits here on this support forum. Any tips would be helpful -- As this is rather annoying, and I have no clue what I am doing with this bot.

Typically if you don't have a clue what you're doing, you shouldn't be doing it. However, I was able to login with AWB. Are you trying to connect to the correct Wiki? Verify you are by going to Options -> Preferences-> Site And selecting Wikia, and typing the name of the subdomain. ZamorakO o (talk) 21:48, September 14, 2011 (UTC)

I have done that several times, even using the 'Other' option, typing in the entire URL for the wiki -- I get a different error when attempting to JUST have the subdomain... The above referenced error - including the change at the end of -

- In my research on this issue, I cam across this post on the Wikipedia help page for AWB -- Trouble with AWB and Wikia Would this be a Wikia Staff issue to work with - It is a long post, but I can't figure out what is important within it or that applies to my problem.JLNicholsonII 04:08, September 15, 2011 (UTC)
