Just wondering if anyone is still able to use WikEd?
Cause i was able to until today, but something has changed it seems... on wikia or is something else wrong?

Yep. Something is badly broken with JavaScript today. Also, the edit toolbar isn't working anymore on Monobook (nor even Oasis). --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 21:32, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
Ugh, yes - very annoying -- RandomTime 21:34, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
If this is their way of saying piss-off to another wiki provider then they are doing a great job so far....
#@$%#$%#!!!! at wikia at moment! ⇐⇑©TriMoon™ Talk @ 23:17, November 17, 2010 (UTC)
wikEd isn't working for me either. I've also noticed that the search suggestions aren't working in Monobook and clicking "follow" reloads the page instead of using JS to mark it as watched without reloading as it should do. The edit toolbar wasn't working right earlier (all I got was the "make a map" button), but at least that is working now. Master Jonathan (Jedi Council Chambers) 21:43, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
Please tell me someone has used Special:Contact to report this. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:10 PM PST 18 Nov 2010
I had not, but i just did...I don't expect fast response or a fix at all though, seeing where wikia is heading.

Good. Wikia's response time is clearly getting worse and not the roughly 24 hours that Brandon is always parroting, but they usually get back within a week. From the last 5 or so Special:Contact messages I've sent out, the response rate varies from 24 hours to 3-4 days to no response. It all depends. I wish they would at least be quick about responding "we're working on it", if they can't fix it quick, but sometimes it really is just a black hole. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:00 AM PST 19 Nov 2010
Our average response time is 24 hours. That's average, which does not mean we can answer every ticket within 24 hours. Additionally, with the team in San Francisco having been very busy with the new look, the average response time has dipped a bit, but not significantly. That said, this problem was reported. - Brandon Rhea@fandom(talk) 20:01, November 19, 2010 (UTC)
Your average response time was 24 hours. For me, the average is definitely not 24 hours, even over my whole time working with Wikia (which has been quite awhile). I don't care if you responded to a million messages in a nanosecond to other people. The only response time average that matters is to the person who is doing the sending. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2:26 PM PST 19 Nov 2010
A follow up. Maybe it wasn't Wikia's fault this time. wikipedia:User_talk:Cacycle/wikEd#wikEd_entirely_gone --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 21:05, November 20, 2010 (UTC)
So you think people were using a bad version of wikiEd? -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 3:47 PM PST 20 Nov 2010
WFM after reinstalling WikED. -- RandomTime 23:15, November 20, 2010 (UTC)
You mean its working again for you? Care to share the details what you did to make it work again?
Because mine is still borked...(My global.js)
⇐⇑©TriMoon™Talk @ 18:21, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
It isn't working for me neither. I've installed it in two wikis. Of course, using Monobook. --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 20:06, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

OK, wikEd and all of the other JS issues I reported above now appear to be fixed. I didn't do anything on my end, so apparently Wikia fixed the issues. Master Jonathan (Jedi Council Chambers) 01:01, November 23, 2010 (UTC)

Well not quite, WikEd indeed started to work for me also a few hours back, but Tabber is still broken in monobook.

Another Wiki Editing tool

I used to have (enabled) a wiki editing tool that allowed a 'preview' of wikilinks (look at the page that is linked without opening it) and allowed access to its history, add to watch list etc and other edit related items easily, but it does not work in Wikia (skin) Used to use it at wikipedia and its great for reviewing new pages and changes without opening pages unless needed. It put up a popup box as you hovered owver items including thumbnail images and a load of edit links. I canot remember what it was called, but can anybody who knows it tell me how to get it working for the new skin ? - BulldozerD11 00:33, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Popups IIRC. Should still work in monobook -- RandomTime 00:42, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks RT that looks like it (just need it to work in oasis now & it will bring back alot of the tool/edit bits that are now hidden) - BulldozerD11 01:24, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
Use this to add it in you personal user:username/wikia.js file.-
// [[User:Lupin/popups.js]]

             + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
(from the FAQ page for the tool) - BulldozerD11 01:55, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
wikia.js only applies to this wiki (and im not sure if that even works), if you want it in all the wikis you should be doing global.js --Cizagna (Talk) Dofus » 06:16, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
I was only using it on my 'home' wiki (not here by adding it to my personal .js file there) & yes it appeared to be working (just it has a solid coloured background with no border, unlike previously when it was as shown on the help page at wikipedia that RT linked to, with a dark border and a light background), so may try it in the Global.js file as it would be useful here and on other wikis - so thanks for tip Cizagna about Global.js file. - BulldozerD11 13:07, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry - the FAQ (Linked to on the page I linked) had that code, but the page didn't. Global js works -- RandomTime 14:58, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
