I actually hate animated GIFs, but during a moment of experimentation, I decided to try adding one to a wiki.
When I uploaded the file, it clearly states "(image/gif, 23 KB, looped, 3 frames, 7.4s)", and it is animated on the file page.
The problem I'm having is when I try to place the image on a page . It stretches, and displays the first frame, with no animation (similar to the 'thumbnail' image in the File page).
Anyone know why this happens, or how to fix it? Thanks in advance...  Jamdog 22:57, October 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Animations don't work for thumbnails, you would have to remove the |thumb from the code. Ariistuujj »Talk Page« 23:01, 10/19/2011
- Thanks Mythrun, I had tried that, but the problem persists... Even without the thumb tag, it's not animated (so I put it back in for now). Jamdog 23:10, October 19, 2011 (UTC)
- No, thumbnail animated gifs work fine, see this for an example, Mythrun. The problem is likely the size of your gif. Gifs have to be made to the size you want them on the wiki before you upload them. They will not play otherwise.--GodPray 23:12,10/19/2011
- Thanks Godisme. The image is set to rougly half it's original width, so that makes sense. Easy enough to remake the image - I'll let y'all know if that works! Jamdog 23:25, October 19, 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, a smaller image (that didn't need resizing in the wiki code) worked fine - thanks muchly for the help! Jamdog 00:51, October 20, 2011 (UTC)

My gif didn't work... I kept it at the original size but it still says Error creating thumbnail: Invalid thumbnail parameters. Iggyvolz
- I've seen this issue occur when the file size of the image was too big. — Sovq 07:39, November 26, 2011 (UTC)
- I had a animated Gif. If I had resized it. It would not work. If I keep it the same size it worked. There is a thing of limit number of cycles. My under standing that there is a way to setup infinite loops.
