I am overhauling A LOT of the templates on my wiki. The main ones I am focusing on are 'image based' templates that work for licensing. I want to get some consistency going so they are easier for potential editors to access.

Should I move the template to a new name and suppress redirect, or should I move it allow redirect? If I suppress, must I move all the images that were under that template manually or can a bot tag them? ... I want the new name for the template to be the dominate selection that appears when it comes to the typing "{{" on an empty space. -- Bunai82 (talk) 00:16, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • You shouldn't have to change anything if you keep the redirect. If you were to move, for example, something like "Template:Fairuse" to "Template:Fair Use" then the redirect would prompt the template to appear in its place without needing a bot to move every instance of "Fairuse" to "Fair Use." - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:24, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
