I would like to adopt this wiki so that it can redirect to my wiki. There aren't really editors overthere anymore and the last time an admin edited over there was on April 5th 2012. So would that be ok?. 14:34, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
- Usurping an inactive wiki's URL to redirect to your wiki is allowed, but trying to adopt the inactive wiki is not something I would recommend. A few months ago, I tried and failed to adopt a wiki to make it redirect to mine, and was told to send a request to staff using Special:Contact/general on the inactive wiki. Shortly after sending the request, staff redirected the wiki I initially planned to adopt to my wiki.

- Wikia should just have just made the redirect based on your adoption request. The process you describe means that any random bozo can make a request from an inactive wiki to turn it into a redirect without any admin connection to either wiki. Strange. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 13 Jun 2012 3:28 PM Pacific
- To reiterate what Dser said above, if you write in to Wikia via Special:Contact and explain you would like to absorb an inactive wiki into your larger, more active one, we do allow it to happen provided there is no active community left at the other wiki that opposes the change. You can learn more at this help page. --daNASCAT 19:07, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
