Is there a way to add videos directly from the gallery builder? I mean to be able to add videos from URLs directly from the gallery builder and not from the wiki's File namespace (Videos do not even show up in the gallery builder's recent images list). Currently the only way i know of is to directly edit the wikitext instead, something that is too daunting for essentially all of the regular editors in this wiki. There have been multiple instances in that wiki where people rely instead of multiple videos floated to the left and right. here's the most recent attempt.
Also, I've been asking this question for a while now, but it seemed that it has fallen on deaf ears. This is a simple request. In fact, since no one ever gives even an atom of feedback I'll ask the staff directly. {{Staff needed}} —mfaizsyahmi (talk) 21:18, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
- You seem to know that you can embed your video directly through <youtube>, <gvideo>, <aovideo> tags and such. What do you think about making a video gallery template out of them using
{{#tag:}}
to ease the interface for users? Cafeinlove msg 2012/8/28, 09:34 (KST)- Here's a mock-up UI to give you an idea of what I'm talking about...
A picture's worth a thousand words?
- The aim is to be able to add videos directly from URLs to the gallery. Cafeinlove's idea still require adding videos separately at some area in the page, adding the template, then deleting all those videos that litter the page space afterwards. —mfaizsyahmi (talk) 16:28, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

- Thank you for the feedback, please know that it has been heard! I can't give you any ETA, but this is something that we have been looking at. —BertH (help forum | blog) 18:54, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks muchly. This would be a great improvement on wikis centered on community-generated videos. :D —mfaizsyahmi (talk) 00:01, September 5, 2012 (UTC)
