On the Special Pages -> Special:ListUsers when was the last time an admin edited, and who was it? There are currently no admins present on the youtube wikia.
Any other information:
One of the main reasons I want to become an adminstrator on the youtube wikia is I can't stand to sit by while I watch a lot of people making inappropriate edits to certain peoples' pages. I have had the liberty ot seeing one specific page I helped edit being entirely deleted over and over by people who do not like the page's contents, or they add inappropriate and crude information in. I am aware an administrator has rights to block certain users from making edits, and I want to be one of those people that helps keep the good users in and bad users out.
Edit: I have also seen numerous unnecessary extra pages of the same information, which could be deleted if only I had the power to do so as an admin. I really want to try to keep the wiki clean. It's a bit messy without an administrator.
- Hi. I agree an administrator would be helpful for a wiki of that size! There seem to be a lot of active contributors. Please start a community discussion ( a blog or forum) about new leadership for the wiki. We can promote more than one user. - Hi! I finally found the adoption request, lol. I thought it got lost somewhere. I have started a blog discussion as you suggested. So far, I've only got one person bringing up at least two other contributors of the wikia who might be good at the admin job. I have contacted each of them separately on their talk pages and asked them to leave comments on the blog page for further discussion. At this point, I am still interested in being an administrator, but I also am willing to step down if there are others that might be better at this job than me. - This is just an update on the discussion on the blog page. Through it, I have learned admin rights cannot be granted to those who have already become an admin to another wikia in the last 60 days. This poses a problem for me (as I was not aware of the rule), and also for another one of the contributors of WikiaTube who has expressed interest in the admin job as well, Killer365, but he too has been upgraded to admin in the last 60 days. The last person someone on the page recommended as a possible administrator is theSitcomLover, but I have not heard back from him yet on this matter though I have contacted him directly. What do you recommend is a possible solution at this point if neither me or Killer365 can be upgraded to admin for WikiaTube? --Applegirl (talk) 21:40, October 31, 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. So I didn't bring up the 60 day rule in my first response to your request because you were given the rights after you made the request, and as far as I could tell you didn't request them. We do recognize that sometimes things happen unexpectedly on wikis, especially when we are unable to answer the requests quickly!
- I have gone ahead and given you admin and bureaucrat rights here as you requested.
- I did not give rights to Killer365, mostly because there wasn't a clear discussion of whether you both wanted bureaucrat or one bureaucrat and one admin or what. He is a bureaucrat on a lot of other wikis fwiw. At any rate, you can promote him to admin and/or bureaucrat as you wish.
