Recently on BioShock Wiki, the helper Wagnike2 created the MediaWiki page MediaWiki:Wikiagameguides-contents. I suppose this has something to do with the Wikia Game Guides mobile application, but I can't tell how this MediaWiki page is used or what it displays. I'd like to know more about it so I can optimize it for BioShock Wiki. Does anyone have experience with this? ~ Gardimuer { ʈalk } 19:17, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

Please see this page, created by Ryan PM, for a great summary on the Wikia Game Guides apps. All credits go to him :). Mark@fandom (talk) 19:22, April 4, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the quick reply. I suppose it would be best to add that information to the Help:Mobile page. ~ Gardimuer { ʈalk } 19:28, April 4, 2011 (UTC)
WoWWiki looks pretty bad in the wikiaapp skin. There better be more tools and help for making it look better or I may request WoWWiki be removed from the app. Although, I doubt Wikia will listen. I'm going to re-tag this post {{Staff needed}}.
No offense to Ryan_PM, but that page is only a small start for what is really needed. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5 Apr 2011 6:16 PM Pacific
Just tried the Wikia Game Guides app on my iPhone. It crashes alot... at least on WoWWiki. Hardly usable. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5 Apr 2011 8:34 PM Pacific
I use the app quite often and since the initial 1.1 release in the App Store, it has crashed more times that a kid in a bumper car. I find it useful as I can make a Category page a normal redirect to change the initial loading of a list to an actual article. There are many bugs that exist in the app, ranging from forcing you to hard refresh your phone if the skin sticks to random closures on opening the app. This can also happen on your own computer if you append webpages with ?useskin=wikiaapp a lot. Crashes randomly and no ability to edit in the application except for hard links. If you find yourself on the login special, I would advise you to not login for various reasons.
Anything you can do with CSS you can do with JS, as that's all the skin recognizes, and thus use it wisely. Wikia hand picks the which wiki will go on it next through Wikifactory. One thing you can do is have multiple slides instead of one contents page, like the Red Dead Wiki. If you supply the image pipe with a variable not supported, you end up with some interesting missing file placeholders. I meant to expand on that page after I had got more of the specifics down, just that none of it appears in the code base. Albeit, Wikiaapp and the WikiaGameGuides appear in it. Ryan PM
