The community portal is intended as a start page for community members. Please help build the page to make sure it is as useful as possible for all contributors. You may like to look at Wikipedia's version for some ideas on what might go here.

Please use the Forum instead of this page for general questionsEdit

This page is being moved to the new Forum. Please post there if you have any new questions or comments. Existing treads here will be archived as they are done with, and then we can put up a new community portal in the same style as Wikipedia's. Thanks -- sannse (talk) 11:58, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

… just for the case, someone likes buttons, here's another one: Wikia button Greetings --rieke 19:56, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Cool, I've added it to the Buttons and banners page -- sannse (talk) 11:42, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

statistics-problem Edit

Maybe something with statistics in the wikia-hosted wikis goes wrong, some of them seem to be very huge:

"there are 18,446,744,073,709,515,700 pages that are probably legitimate content pages"
Which wiki did you find that on? I can fix those if I know about them. Angela talk 05:46, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

New designEdit

Wikia's new main page proposal is more focused on visitors and newcomers wanting to find out about Wikia and learn the basics of getting started and making a wiki. My aim for the Community portal is to have a community home page that is aimed at the more involved members of the community who know all those basics and want to take the next step. This page will point them to interesting places within the Wikia world and help them find new things to and new places to go. For example, featured wikis and volunteer tasks will be listed here. Is there anything you feel is missing from this page? Angela talk 14:43, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Not from me, I just want to say I like this idea a lot. The community version looks pretty comprehensive. Scottch 14:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi Angela, I suggest focus in Translation section. Maybe a tutorial teaching how to translate the areas of wikia. I saw this Translations, but I didnt understand how to improve my language interface. Artfikan 01:00, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Help! Edit

Would there be any way to advertise a wiki somewhere here?- LD760{Give a yell} 05:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

RTL scratchpad Edit

The RTL scratchpad is missing in action. The links here to RTL lead nowhere. I had some Urdu stuff there. --Urdutext 01:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Offensive messageEdit

If I edit on the IP address I get the following message:

'Warning: The liberal Jew-run media has infiltrated Wikiality, and forced us to allow anonymous editing. The Surgeon General has ordered us to warn you that editing anonymously can cause birth defects, cancer, increased risk of stroke, and revealing your IP address. Please log in if you wish to hide your IP address.'

This is (a) racist, (b) contains incorrect medical information, (c) likely to cause offense to people who come across, and (d) cause a referral of Wikia to race relations and other bodies.

There is nothing wrong with humour unless it causes offense to reasonable users and passers by. —This unsigned comment is by (wallcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Which wiki did you see this on? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:35, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Found it; you're talking about w:c:wikiality:MediaWiki:Anoneditwarning. Can someone please delete or modify it, or at least speak to Wikiality's administrators about it? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:42, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Everything in Wikiality is a joke, just like uncyclopedia. It's your own choice. If you don't like it don't visit that site.-- BlueDevil Talk 18:10, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you BlueDevil, but I've decided to change the message (I never like it anyway; it was much too wordy to be a warning message)--WatchTVEatDonutDrinkBeer 20:39, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Can't get in Edit

Ok, I am able to get into every other wiki, except for the Star Wars Fanon Wiki. It says it needs to send a confirmation email code. I press ok to send, but I am still not getting any email to confirm. Can someone please help with this?--Dryden Zod

that wiki's settings require are logged in and have an confirmed email to edit there. There might be a problem right now with our email sending server. In the future, you are better off sending us an message on Special:Contact rather then posting on a page like this. --Uberfuzzy@fandom 04:06, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

There's no such setting on SWF that says you have to be logged in to edit. Special:Protectsite on SWF is currently set at "All users" for the parts relevant to this issue. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 07:29, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

Actually there is, and it's active on SWF. It's a setting which requires editors to have an account that is email confirmed in order to make any edits (IPs and and non-emailconfirmed accounts cannot edit.) You can see this by signing out and trying to edit a non-protected page. (It has nothing to do with ProtectSite) ~Joey~ ^Talk^ 07:48, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

Purpose Edit

What is the intended purpose of this page now that there is a main page for Central intended to serve as a "community portal" for Wikia? Or is it obselete? Wjxhuang, the 888th Avatar {Talk} 12:58, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

The project pageEdit
