Wikia is pleased to be sponsoring Wikimania again this year. Wikimania is the annual international conference of the Wikimedia Foundation. Though Wikia is not a Wikimedia project, the conference is very relevant to Wikia users, and we encourage you to attend. You will learn more about the fun, theory, and practice of wikis and related free content communities, have a chance to discuss your wiki, meet other Wikians, meet Wikia staff, and hang out with Jimmy Wales! :) A special Wikia users group meeting will be held during or just before Wikimania.
Wikimania 2007 will be held in Taipei. Wikia community team member KJ is part of the organizing group for Wikimedia's third annual international conference.
Wikia has a small number of partial scholarships available to Wikia editors who need support with the costs of travel, accommodation, or entry fees for Wikimania. If you would like to apply for one of these, please send us the following details via our contact form as soon as possible. Wikimania 2006
Wikimania 2006 took place in August in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the Harvard Law School campus. Many members of Wikia staff attended, along with some Wikia users and Uncyclopedians. The conference provided the first opportunity for a general Wikia meetup.
