Interwiki/language links requested...[]

Hi, I am building a wiki for our game Bubble Island. We have many international players so multi-language support is important. I am not 100% sure the best way to set this up, but from the community i was told to create seperate language wikis of the same title for each language. ie: de.bubbleisland.wikia.com, es.bubbleisland.wikia.com.


Now I am trying to link to those pages from other pages. I would like to have a link on each page to other language versions of that page. How do I set this up? I have read the help etc., it seems it needs to be "unlocked". But what is the format then, and does it link to the other wiki, or just a page on the current wiki?

You need to use the Interwiki linking template to help them help you
To connect the EN wiki to each of the others
To connect the DE wiki to each of the other remaining language (excluding EN since it is connected above)
To connect the ES wiki to each of the other remaining language (excluding EN and DE since they are connected above)
To connect the FR wiki to each of the other remaining language (excluding EN, DE and ES since they are connected above)
To connect the IT wiki to TR since they are the remaining languages , because EN, DE, ES, and FR are connected above)

I don't exactly understand how to insert this command, because the different language Wiki's have different names. But I do want to link the English version to the Italian version and the Spanish version.

You would use the following:

I agree. Would it also be possible to get an interwiki link between gta and gta.answers?
This is technically possible, not with the easy template/linking. Since the lang codes are the same (both EN, the "link 2 wikis" code doesnt know what to do. It would have to be created manually at each wiki. I want to try it, to see if its possible, and if its going to work how i think it will/wont. Can you leave me details on my talk page on what you want the interwiki link code would be on each end? In the end, it may end up just being easier to use the w:c: naming scheme for these, since it is inplace globally already. --Uberfuzzy 09:41, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

My previous Interwiki request was made on uncorrect language code be-x-ol, ask Interwiki request to my new language code to be-x-old

When you requested the wiki you selected the wikis language to be be-x-old. You can see the autowikiscript adding the wikis info hence why all the interwikis are be-x-old
So for me to fix this would you want me to request that you wikis change language to be-x-ol? thought i warn you that this may change how MediaWiki messages display

Ok I have re-read you comment, I did the interwiki based on your wikis language code (be-x-old) the be-x-ol was not add by me if you tell me in what wikis it appears i will remove it but the interwiki is set so any wiki trying to contact you must use be-x-old

The alone wiki that displays the code be-x-old is uncyclopedia, others use uncorrect code be-x-ol, which does not appear on language panel
