Community Central:Adoption requests

 This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Tom & Jerry Wiki (declined)

Hello Wikia people. I am Spooks, a short-time editor on Wikia, who has recently found the Tom & Jerry wiki, while looking for pictures. While I was there, I noticed a complete lack of administrators, as the two of them had been inactive since the middle of 2008 and 2009. I was wondering if I would be able to become a beaurcrat there so I could fix the wiki up, create a logo, skin and ban spammers. Need For Madness Wiki (approved)

The wiki I usually edit is extremely unactive, with only 1 admin, which I believe is the founder. He has not contributed since 2009, and the few users that actively edit are me and 3 other users, 1 which have not signed in. As the Wiki cannot be protected, it is usually subjected to vandalism and trolling. In an attempt to stop this, I am requesting to become an Admin, in order to add new styles to the wiki, making it more attractive, and protecting the wiki from vandalisers. Ok, forget everything I said. None of them edit anymore (in an often matter, anyway) and more than once this wiki has been atacked by vandalizers, as you can check in the Wiki's History pages EL KING, Drifter X, and even the Home page was once vandalized. Hi. While the page you created is very nice, you appear to have only edited once in the last year. In order to adopt a wiki you need to be an active editor on the wiki. There appears to be a fairly large community of users there, so we would also request that you start a community discussion about new leadership for the wiki through a blog post or forum that you invite the other users to comment on. Double Collaboration Request for Adminship/Bureaucrat Status (declined)

Hi, i am sending a request in again and this time for something larger (as my adoption request for the Syndicate Wiki was declined but anywho) as the Wiki seem to be a mess, People creating fictional stuff while it's meant to be a wiki for "REAL" Bond Films and media, the Wiki dosen't have any admins to speak of as i couldn't find one the highest person i saw was a VSTF but other than that i don't know who to talk to other than Wikia Staff. I want to make the Bond Wiki glorious just like the films.

If this helps or anything but i am a "experienced" editor being an active rollback in the Battlefield Wiki.

Operation Head Pidgeons Wiki (approved)

Hello,

I would like to adopt Operation Head Pidgeons Wiki. I have searched all of the revisions and members of the site, and could not find one administrator that had edited on the wikia. There has also been a spike of vandalism that cannot be deleted (mainly the +New Pages) due to the lack of any present, active admin. The vandalisers in question also uploaded disturbing, inappropriate photos that should not belong on this wiki (sexually explicit images) that also cannot be removed, except from the pages they are added to. It would be helpful if someone would be able to IP block the vandaliser(s), which is where the admin would come in.

Even if I am not accepted as an admin, it would be very generous of you to personally remove those horrifying indignities yourselves? They're gross, and ruin the wiki in general.

German Doctor Who Wiki (approved)

Is it at all possible for me to adopt the German Doctor Who Wiki? It's in an awful state and I've been starting to make it just a tad better. I work for other Wikis too and can speak and read near fluent German (plus, I'm a big Doctor Who fan who knows lots about Doctor Who). IMO:The World of Magic Wiki (approved)

I wish to adopt the wikia [2] because the admins have been inactive for over 60 days, I have not founded, adopted, or been given admin access on another wiki in the last 60 days, I have not been blocked on another Wikia project, I have 367 edits on the wikia and created over 40 new pages and I have kept the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updated news sections and pictures related to the topic.

I also wish for a fellow editor User:IcedWings to become an admin as well for her sustained effort on improving this wiki.

The wiki's templates are currently disorganised and there has been vandalism and pages that need deleting. In conclusion there needs to be someone who can manage the wiki, so therefore I request for admin and bureaucrat rights please.

Mass Effect Fanon Wiki (on hold)

Greetings. I would like to formally adopt the Mass Effect Fanon Wiki. For the past few months, I have been the only constant presence on that wiki, and although I've been reluctant to actually take over as Bureaucrat, I feel that Bluethunder213's continuing absence has contributed to the perception that the wiki is "dead", and the subsequent disappearance of other veteran users. I am hoping that with Bureaucracy, I can send a clear signal that there is someone running the ship, and hopefully start to attract more users (I stubbornly refuse to believe that there are only a handful of us who like to write ME fanfics), or perhaps even convince some of the veterans to come back. On that wiki you can see that I made contributions and even a few bigger ones. Bacon wiki (approved)

I am submitting a request for Admin/Bureaucrat rights on the Bacon Wiki.

I submitted a request before, but it was declined as the founder (sole sysop on the site) had edited in within the past 60 days. I was told to leave a message on his talk page, so I did. He did not respond, so I have continued to make contributions to the wiki. However, there a lot of things that need to be done that I can't do as a regular user (deletions, moves, etc.).

As for the timing of this request, I waited until 60 days had passed since my last sysop. Note the unanimous 11:0 vote.

I know not of what "active contributors" you speak of. 3 registered editors and 1 anon editor in the past week "active" is rather low. The only other registered users of any significance are the Wikia content team, and I believe that most of their effort was put into making the homepage look wonderful. The reason for my lack of activity is that I've been busy for the past week, and my main intent involves administrative tasks, specifically deleting pages (all of the Candidates for deletion, and especially this spam blog post), renaming all files to better filenames, etc. Finally, in response to setting up a discussion, I do not feel that it would do anything but waste my time, considering the "active" community of editors of the wiki. Hi -- I would like to adopt the Combat Mission Wiki. I have started putting stuff there and am going to be putting more. However, right now the front page is basically a stub and I cannot edit it. American Dad/The Cleveland Show Wikis (approved)

I would like to request bureaucrat rights on both the American Dad Wiki and The Cleveland Show Wiki in order to promote backup administrators as needed. I am already a bureaucrat on Family Guy Wiki and actively work on all three as originally requested by Grande13. I wasn't sure about the one wiki rule as I'm not looking to adopt although that may be only a technicality. If a choice has to be made between the two, American Dad is the one most subject to vandalism after Family Guy and would be a logical choice to have back up if needed. Little Shop of Horrors Wiki (on hold)

Hi, I'd like to adopt Little Shop of Horrors Wiki.

It's in terrible shape. I need help fixing this place up. I've only made 2 edits, but I've frequently looked to see if anyone else has been editing, but to my dismay, this is a no.

I am an experienced admin on Warrior Cats Roleplay Wiki, and a huge fan of Little Shop of Horrors (ask any of the users on WCRW-it's true XD). I think if I were to get started on this by becoming an admin, I'd be able to clean up the poorly written pages and the short articles.

I did make a page for Orin, too, but I need to find more information on him before I can go any farther.

But to make this short, I'd like to adopt the wiki, and I could probably fix up the problems that the founder had left. It hasn't been edited for 3 whopping years, and I found it last week o.e

Umm, Hemtial, you have to make a new heading first. You go up to where it says "Normal Text", click it, and then click "Heading Two." Type your title, then hit a space and retype. Nicholas Flamel Wiki (approved)

Hi I would like to adopt this wiki. Secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel Wiki I checked the only Admin's page and they have not been active for months. There is tons of cleanup needed for this wiki and there is only so much I can do on here without Admin privileges. I have made several contributions to this wiki. I have been inactive as my computer broke and I was just able to get a new one. There is only a handful of actual Wikia members that edit the wiki, it is mostly done by a random Wikia Contributer who seems to be changing the descriptions of many of the character pages and I cannot undo these without being an Admin. Adoption Request for Brutal Legend Wiki (approved)

Hello, I am The Milkman and I would like the oppertunity to adopt the Brutal Legend Wiki, a gaming wiki. It has been longer than 60 days since I adopted my previous wiki, Dante's Inferno Wiki, on September 3, 2011. You can see my edits here. I have never been blocked on another wiki. The wiki has no active admins, and only a couple of other users are editing on the wiki. At the very least, I would appreciate a position as admin so I can have access to the extra features to help clean up the wiki. As an admin, I can add extra features to make the wiki more aestheticly pleasing, such as Badges and chat rooms. You can see that I also made all the badges for Dante's Inferno Wiki, and added a chat room there as well. In addition to cleaning and organising the wiki, I can help my creating a Style Guide, as I have done in Dante's Inferno Wiki here .

I have created pages on the wiki as well. See Welcome to the Age of Metal, and Got a Car and a Date as examples. I noticed that pages need to be created for the missions, which I will continue to do. I have and will be editing this wiki, just as I have done with Dante's Inferno Wiki. I will be improving the format, and editing for consistency. I won't be editing alone, of course. When I started editing on my previously adopted wiki, some editors from Red Dead Wiki were glad to help out despite lacking actual knowledge on the topic. I was later aided by other users who came to our wiki. In addition, I also have quite a few friends who are fans of the game who could help me on the project. I have been adding images and links to make wiki navigation easier as well.

Adoption request for Animals Wiki (approved)

Hello, I am Ghgt99. I have recently discovered the Animals Wiki, and I have started editing there and hope to adopt it. I have not founded, adopted, or been given admin access on another wiki in the last 60 days, and I have created 6 pages, including 2 categories, and I have fixed up the Main Page a bit.

On the Cheese Wiki, the founder has not been active for many years. He last logged in in 2007, last edited in 2006. Mr. Men Wiki (resolved on wiki)

I found this wiki around a month or more ago, and I noticed that it was very inactive and I would love to adopt it. The founder of the wiki has not been editing for over than a year, and a registered user also hasn't edited in a while (besides me, of course). Adoption request Pottermore wiki (on hold)

Hi,

Pottermore recently went into BETA mode (mid August, 2011), and a wikia was created a long time before, which the admin is now inactive. I am currently ranked #1 on the Special:Leaderboard for having the most edits, contributions and new pages added, and am i just wondering if I could adopt this wiki? The current owner hasn't appointed any admins, and I think the wikia would benfit from having a few active admins.

I'm expecting this wikia to get big traffic, as there is currently 1 million people registered to pottermore, and it isn't released to the public yet. so having admins to keep the wikia under control is almost a must.

I would like to adopt Eden World Builder Wiki. I have added some pages and updated some content to the latest version. I would love to see this wiki grow and flourish. Hello, I have currently been populating the Tribes wiki in particular the Tribes: Ascend portion. During adding pages and correcting info, I have noticed that our wiki has pages that need to be deleleted(http://tribes.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Personnel this is a duplicate page and doesn't contain the correct information and another http://tribes.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Thumper_DX) and that the creator has closed their account: http://tribes.wikia.com/wiki/Special:ListUsers/sysop. This leaves no admins or any other contributor with the ability to clean up the wiki. Hello, I am abraaz and am requesting to become an admin for the Tdp4 Wikia. I have been editing it for a while now and I have noticed it needs someone on there with admin status. I am Asking this for a few reasons.

1. There are & haven't been any admins on that site ever (that I know of).
2. I am one of the few people that actually use edit it but I know it gets used because people on kongregate tell me all the time that they use it for reference.
3. It is over run by trolls. Every week nearly every major catergory has been wrecked by 1 or sometimes even more trolls.

Why should I be granted Admin rights?

I'm Staff on the Assassin's Creed Wiki, the only way to get in is if you pass a voting process and clearly I passed which means I must have some potential. I'm aware on how to create Templates so I'll be able to create Stub Templates, Revamp Templates and my knowledge of editing may prove a useful aspect to this Wiki.

Am I helpful towards the community?

Community? What community? The last edit that was not vandalism was on August 8th. Way more than 60 days and not an Admin in sight to stop vandalism, why? Because they're all inactive. This Wiki is not up to speed and that August 8th edit was someone creating a page called Sperm which I am convinced was copied off Wikipedia.

Do I even know how to edit in source mode?

I'm always editing in source mode, I've created guides detailing how to edit in both visual and source mode showing that I do know certain aspects of source mode editing.

Have I ever been blocked on another Wikia?

Of course not, I would never deliberately do anything to get myself blocked and if I did, I wouldn't be here telling you all my case.

Not going to lie, no, I haven't but I intend to when everything is sorted out, they're going by date but it's hard to keep track because it's all over the place. I aim on changing that.

Adoption Request Gattaca Wiki

Hello, I'm Fist2Face and I discovered the Gattaca Wiki about a week ago, when I had started editing there. I noticed that the previous editors, which were mostly anonymous, had not edited in more than a month, so then I started editing the wiki a bit, since I took interest in the movie before. Along with that, there were not any admins, other than the founder of the wiki.

I am looking to adopt the wiki, as it has been abandoned and I believe I could change that with admin and/or bureaucrat rights. Viking Clan returns from Valhalla (approved)

Hi,

I am making a request to adopt the Viking Clan Wikia found here I found it while looking for info on the game but found it woefully out of date and incorrect so I just had to change one thing. Well one thing led to another and now my name is plastered all over the site.

I think the site was last edited back in 2009 but I can't find the original editors name now.

I would dearly love access to the home page because:

• He got the name wrong it should read Viking Clan not Vikingclan.
• This site is still pretty much under construction, so bear with it., is not very encouraging.
• I started a News and Events page that is not connected to the front page.
• I would like to add a page template with at least a background image.

My knowledge of HTML and general web page formatting (oh how much do I miss a TAB to align text) is as close to zero as makes no difference but I do have knowlege of the game, Viking Clan, that I think would be of some use to others.

Hi. The only right a bureaucrat has is to promote and demote other users to admin/rollback. This is why the right is almost always given with admin rights at the same time. Admin rights let you rollback, block, delete, etc.

It looks like there are a fair number of active users on that wiki. Please start a community discussion about new admins/bureaucrats for the wiki. We can promote more than one user. Dungeon Siege Wiki: Admin Rights request (approved)

X-Files Wikia

Hello there. I am Jose Chung and I have become a major editor of the X-Files Wikia. I also have contributed to the Lone Gunmen wikia and intend to work on the Millennium wikia; both being related to the X-Files television series.

About two weeks ago, I left a message with the last X-Files administrator about getting administrator privileges but have received no response. Nor do I expect one. I refer to them as the "last" because they were the last to stop logging into wikia (about a year ago by the logs) and I figured they were the best chance of contacting local admins as is recommended before trying to adopt a page.

My point is this: I don't think any of them are coming back so I'm filing for adoption of the X-Files wikia as an admin.

Well, by now i think that this style of wiki desertion is typical, this one goes as follows:

The admin/founder on the wiki appears to be completely inactive, he doesn't seem to have been doing anything since 2009. I have been the only signed up user to edit for ages, and the only other edits have been by one person who hasn't signed up. I myself have forgot to log in before editing a few times, that explains the other edits. Also there has been one instance of an unwanted spam page, and since there are no active admins on now, i feel that the wiki will be vandalized if noone adopts it. The Killer Bunnies Wiki has three active users. This doesn’t include the founder and only admin, who hasn’t made any edits in almost two years. I didn’t get any response trying to contact him through his user talk page so I’m asking for admin access here. I’m the second biggest contributor and have the support of the other active users. Steve Cole Books

I am Dasta Fan 6, an editor on the Steve Cole Books Wiki, which I have added a large number of pages and edits to over a period of some years. There is only one admin on the site, the founder, but he has been inactive for months and the site has recently been targeted by an anonymous vandal who persistently adds profanity, defaces pages, and nonsensical pages to the site. I am the only active named editor, and since I lack admin rights I am unable to block the user and delete the junk pages. Tintin Wiki

Hi there, I have been doing a lot of editing and general caretaking of the Tintin wiki and am basically the only person holding the place together. Just recently we've been getting a lot of spam and vandalism. I've been able to fix most of it, but it doesn't seem to go away. I would really like to become an admin for this wiki. This way I'll be more effectively able to respond and prevent this sort of misuse of the wiki.

I joined the Tintin Wiki in June this year, have made 1,853 edits since then and created over 300 new pages. Infamous wiki request

Hi, I'm intrested in becoming an admin on the Infamous wiki. I've noticed that the admins there haven't been around for a while. One of the founders has left us entirely and the others haven't been editing. There are still many edits by other users, but I think we still need an admin or two for vandal troubles and other things, because as for vandals, most of us have only managed to do minor damage control, and of course, it's the admins that finish the job. I don't know if this matters, but on the Infamous wiki we have a ranking system, and I am number 13. The only issue is that I do my editing on an iPad, so I don't know if I can provide a link. Hi, I would like to adopt http://orphanstales.wikia.com. I am the only person who has ever made any real edits to this wiki (whoever founded it never did anything with it), and am still the wiki's only editor. It would be great if I had other users to help me, but for now having admin rights would make my editing job a lot easier.

--- I would like to request being granted administrator and bureaucrat powers to this wiki. I do not have the best or most edits, but I would like to help the wiki flourish and grow; ranging from templates, creating stubs, editing articles (as in for spelling and grammar or addition), and to changing the site's design. My activity may be erratic but I will likely be on, editing, at least once per week.

---+ I do realize that some guidelines are not followed (correctly), but almost all recent contributions come from one or more IPs as opposed to registered users.

Star Wars Merchandise Wiki

Hello, I've been interested in adopting the Star Wars Merchandise Wiki! There haven't been very many users editing on the wiki, and I've already asked the admins for adopting approval, and they directed me here. (Yes, they rarely ever edit on the wiki, nor do they have interest!)

Game Maker wiki

No administrator has visited in years. http://gamemaker.wikia.com/wiki/Special:ListUsers I wish to adopt this inactive wiki since there is heavy vandalism on it, including a lot of foul language from IP addresses, and for years I was quite active in the Game Maker community. I need administrator abilities to erase articles such as http://gamemaker.wikia.com/wiki/Move_bounce which was created with the word "trolled" and nothing more, and articles like http://gamemaker.wikia.com/wiki/Best_cell_phone_spyware which was created as some IP address messing around as well. I know I'm not a staff member but I notived your request. While the vandalism is continuing, undo the edits of the offending user (on the 'History' page) until you get the rights. Total Miner Adminship

I would like adminship on the Total Miner Wiki.

The owner logs on about every 2 weeks so it can not be adopted. He says that he won't make anyone admin because he doesn't know how. Also, there has been a spam page that needs to be deleted that people just keep adding and deleting stuff from.

If you will, please promote me, KingFredrick VI, and Minerman.

I hope you do so because there are a lot of spam comments and the background NEEDS to be changed.
