Community Central:Adoption requests

 This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Inactive Wiki (on hold)

I am a member of a community for an older computer game, Ares (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/ares), which was revived a couple years ago by being released as open source software. There are now 2 different projects working to bring the Ares universe back to life, Xsera (www.xsera.org) and Antares (www.arescentral.org/antares). Since the game is complex (the original author intended to release other games around the same universe, so the game is rich with tidbits and factoids), I thought it deserved a wiki of its own.

However, ares.wikia.com is currently in use, with almost no content and no activity for almost half a year. In fact, all of the pages were created on one day, and all the pages I saw were just a blank template, except for the home page.

As administrator of ares.wikia.com, I would bring activity to a wiki that is currently unused, and help rekindle a community that has been around for over a decade.

Hi. In order to adopt a wiki you need to be working on it already. You can do a lot to fill in the existing stub pages, add new content, add pictures, spruce up the mainpage, etc. as a regular user. You can do this by creating a blog or forum post on the subject and inviting other users to read and comment. Please give everyone about a week to respond. Post back here with a link to the discussion and we will give the rights to whomever the community agrees on. Hi Ponyo Fan. As I said to JellyfishJam above, in order to have new admins you guys need to have a discussion on the wiki and choose people to be the admins. I cannot see that he has started a conversation (a blog post, for example), so perhaps you can do that. Please provide a link here to the discussion and let us know who the community would like to be the new admin. Arthur Wiki Request (on hold)

I would like to adopt the Arthur Wiki. There has been much spam and vandilism added to the wiki but we the few active users can't fix it because none of us have administrator rights to the wiki, which is why I would like to adopt it. It needs more attention to things such as the templates. If admistrator rights given, I would give admin rights to Jacksonian, another active user of the wiki. We had to wait a while because the only other admin logged on just to make a minor edit. If at least one of us could get to be an admin, that would be great.

That's why I am asking for admin rights immediately because any effort us the members try to make such as undoing the vandilism on the main page, the spammer just undos the spam removing edit. You can find the wiki here. If I were admin there, I could customize the wiki, and get more people to it. that might be why the admin went inactive. Moving on, I would like to adopt the Pokemon Solstice Wiki (http://pokemonsolstice.wikia.com/wiki/Pokemon_Solstice_Wiki). The owner of that wiki was a previous member, darktail, who is now inactive. I feel that it is my duty as an administrator to ensure that that wiki stays safe. As you may see, there has been some vandalism, and I would personally like that to stop.

I believe I have contributed to this wiki immensley, as well as helped renovate it last summer when it was active.

Mr Men or Courage the Cowardly dog Wiki (on hold)

I would like to say that the admin for the Courage the Cowardly Dog wiki http://courage.wikia.com/wiki/Special:WikiActivity is inactive, so is there by any chance you could make me an admin there? Although I am not a fan of Courage the Cowardly dog, I go to that place because I have a friend there, and trolls have been trying to force him back onto another wiki.

Also, the Mr Men wiki http://mrmen.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._Men_Wiki?cb=1875 only has 1 admin, and not much has been dealt with. The wiki is swarming with trolls and useless articles. And they hadn't been banned or deleted yet. I feel that if I was an admin, the wiki would be a more safer and better place.

Wanting to adopt Darkstalkersopedia (approved)

I've been contributing to the Darkstalkersopedia for a while and noticed the the admin's page doesn't even exist anymore. A while back some people (person) deleted several sections of a page. This was easy to fix but now people have moved onto making junk pages. I'd really like to become admin of this wikia, not only because it could use someone to watch over it but, also because I really enjoy the subject (game rather? :]) of the wikia. I'd also love the opportunity to learn more about wikia/wikis, coding and other fun tricks.

This is somewhat selective: they are not being friendly and both of them have engaged in namecalling. On the chat Ralok said 'brat' and Ozzy said 'troll'. I don't think this is how people in charge of a wiki should conduct themselves. The "clean" aspect basically includes censoring images from the first episode (the one that launched the series) where the cats are nude (though no nipples or genitalia are shown) prior to getting their magic battle costumes. It also includes censoring the images from the comics when Mumm-ra captures Cheetara/Kat/Kit and makes them dress in slave regalia. Ty 05:25, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

Commenting about bringing back images is ironic, as Ozzy's new appointee Ralok has been deleting images without prior discussion (including canon ones from the first episode Exodus). As for categories: these two have taken it upon themselves to declare some categories (swords, sword users, females, etc) as "pointless" stating things like them not being things people care about. Ultimately I think any categorical information should be categorized and we should leave it up to users to decide which categories they want to ignore or look into. Ty 05:25, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

Ty. This request was closed already. I am sorry you are having some disagreements with the wiki admins, but this is not the place to air those grievances. Furthermore admins and bureaucrats have the right to decide and enforce content and behavioral guidelines within their wiki, as long as they do not break Wikia's terms of use. Devilmanozzy was already an admin on the wiki when MightQ's request was made and the rules for adoption are quite clear that existing admins make the wiki ineligible for adoption although we are willing to help if the admin wants to promote a user and simply does not have the bureaucrat rights to do this. At this point all matters of rights and content guidelines for this wiki should be discussed on wiki and not here. Battle Pirates Wikia (declined)

Greetings,

I wanted to adopt the Battle Pirates Wiki as its only two administrators have been inactive for many months at a time, one of whom hasn’t been on in three months, the other having posted just yesterday after over two months of inactivity, and is not likely to be remotely active on the wiki.

The Wiki is badly outdated and need of update, I am also the only named user to have made any significant contributions in weeks and am currently striving to update and clean up all of the pages on the wiki to the best of my abilities.

To date I have only edited a handful of pages, but the edits are major ones and I plan to continue to make such edits in the future, including the creation of many needed pages with full content.

To add to my qualifications I am contributor to many other Wikis some major, other minor, and have been doing so for several years, I have some skill with BB code and mark up but I am still learning, and willing to learn as much as I can about it for use on Wiki.

That’s why I'd like to adopt this Wiki and continue to supervise and maintain it as needed for the life of the game it was created for.

I have just found another Battle Pirates Wiki, with the namespace of Battle-Pirates Wiki, I was unaware of its existence as a search of Google did find it, even when adding the dash between the words. This Wiki is also about Battle Pirates and seems to be slightly better off.

Dubstep Wiki (declined)

I'd like to become a bureaucrat, administrator and chatmod on the Dubstep Wiki. With the extra buttons I could greatly improve the wiki which was founded by Wikia staff member BladeBronson, who on that wiki hasn't been active for a long time, and he is the only bureaucrat, and hasn't been active on Community Central since July 5, 2011. Please take my request into consideration. I am Captain Crimson, but I didn't find that account name appropariate for Dubstep, so I made this. I'm telling you that because I don't want you to think it's sockpuppetry.

I've begun working on the Wiki's CSS, but I need the theme designer and admin privileges to be able to develop the theme. It's not so good if I don't have the MediaWiki:Wikia.css to use. My personal CSS can't bypass the color for pages from the theme designer, but MediaWiki:Wikia.css can. I'd like to work on the main page also, but I need admin powers to do that too. Make sense why I need them, right?

This is a seemingly abandoned wikia based on the anime/manga series Negima! Magister Negi Magi. While there seems to be a small group of editors, those with user rights and admin powers do not seem to be active anymore.

Hello, I would like to adopt the Gremlins Wiki. There has been very little editing done on the Wiki, and I am very knowledgable about the topic. It appears that there are no administrators, and I cannot seem to find who even created the Wiki. Occasionally, I have noticed that a Wikia Contributor may contribute, but there is hardly any editing done. Hi, I did some more research, and the name of the creator of the Gremlins Wiki is Gyaos. The last edit he (or she) made was in 2008, and although there are a few editors who will edit on the Wiki occasionally, it appears that there is no active administrator on the Wiki. I can edit on the Wiki more often now that I have a little more free time, so if you grant me the rights to the Wiki, that would be great. Thanks for your time! :)

Hi, Grunny. I left CoolGiz a message (concerning Gremlins Wiki), and he was online at the time that the message was sent, but no response yet. He would love to be an administrator, though, I am positive, because he has near 600 edits on the Wiki (maybe not quite, but whatever...) Anyways, he wouldn't care and he said that he couldn't promise anything, but he would really appreciate some of the help I could give to the Wiki with my administrative duties. Tibia Sweden Wiki (closed)

Hi! I'm interested in adopting the swedish wiki for the game Tibia. There hasn't been any admins online since 2010. These last few hours I've been going through the entire thing through "all pages", reverting all vandalization which has popped up while no admin has been around, and poking around fixing spelling errors and such. The wiki is in serious need of new contributors, and it's difficult to keep it nice and tidy when there are no admins around. The wiki had a lot of vandalization on it, swearing, page-emptying and racial slurs of varoius kinds (not so much now), and lots of the pages are only a line or two of text. Also, a whole lot of the wiki is written in english (copied from the english Tibia wiki I think, to be translated but it never happened). I admit that I'm not very good at the game, however, translating and fixing in general is no problem at all, as I'm almost natively fluent in english. I haven't added any pages myself yet, as I'm focusing on first fixing the pages which already are around, and then translating pages. I haven't seen any other active contributors, so I haven't been able to leave any nice messages, but would a few contributors come to the wiki I would. I'm just looking into seeing if it's possible to gain admin status on the Emmerdale wikia? http://emmerdale.wikia.com/wiki/Emmerdale_Wiki The admin seems to have last been seen in March and there doesn't seem to be any frequently active users at the moment and I'm hoping more content will eventually turn that around. Hey, I would like to request Admin and Bureaucrat powers on the Bayonetta Wiki to better modify and expand it's potential. Currently the wiki's Admin seems to have been absent for quite some time, and requests for Admin/Bureaucratic powers seem to have gone largely unanswered in the past. Currently the wiki receives only sporadic edits and lacks consistency and accuracy in it's information, which I have been working on to fix over the last few days. Midtown Madness 2 Wiki

I recently found the Midtown Madness 2 Wiki - http://midtownmadness2.wikia.com/wiki/Midtown_Madness_2_Wiki - but when I discovered it, it only had two pages - a home page, with what looked like a simple template for starting a wiki in use, and one page relating to a race within the game, with only 3 lines of text. Over the past few days, I've been working my socks-off to get the wiki up to date and have finally finished adding detailed pages on the game's cities and cars, each with at least one image. There is still more work to do, but seeing as no other editors have visited recently (with only 2 ever using the wiki before me) and there are certain aspects, such as the visual feel to the Wiki (which currently consists of a boring blue font reading 'Midtown Madness 2 Wiki' as a logo and a dull green background) which I would like to change. So therefore, I would like admin privelages to the wiki.

Battle For Dream Island Wikia

Dear Wikia staff,

I am asking for admin status of the BFDI wiki for two reasons:

1) Minor Point-The main admin currently in charge is away most of the time and randomly pops in with spans of days in between, and contact with him is difficult.

2) Major Point-Three times now, either one or numerous users have vandalized the wiki. It began July 4th with a user named Orihime999 who deleted all the information off the pages. With the assistance of staff member VegaDark, I was able to get his account suspended, and others users and I repaired the wiki. However, on August 4th, a non-registered IP address began copying the vandalism Orihime did by deleting information off all pages.

This has continued in spans and I wish for it to stop. Whether I do/dont become an admin, my main goal is to be able to stop unregistered users from editing, which our admin fails to discipline properly. Thanks for all help possible. mjpj189 Riding in my invisible jet 20:07, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

The Wiki is doing much better, as she recuited at least 7-13 new members to the site, and improved every article it has. Although it is NOT inactive anymore, it was, and she restored it. She's qualified for this. Please let her become the new admin. Thank you.

Greek Mythology

Can I become a admin of Greek Mythology

Reasons

1. They don't involve the wind gods which is bad
2. They but Bob as a god in Percy Jackson which is a long story about why his name is Bob
3. Also i could write easier then having to ask a admin to have to do it for me which means i don't get any credit for my knowledge

Ni Hao, Kai-Lan Wiki Adoption

I have had a hard time getting pages deleted on this wiki. Every time a page got deleted, a user would recreate it. This is why I want to adopt this wiki, so I can do something about them and the wiki.
