Community Central:Adoption requests

This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Happy Wheels (approved)

The Happy Wheels Wiki was created by a user in November 2010, he created a couple of badly written pages and then left and never returned. I then found the wiki a couple of months later while it was unedited since the last time and started editing it, making new pages, and other people also started coming over and helping. The Wiki is active now. I tried contacting the creator(by email address and googling his name) but I haven't gotten any response so far. Since the color layout are completely random, the wiki looks unoriginal in it's looks, I have decided to ask for an adoption request. Someone else is also requesting, an user named "wafercrisp", he is a great wiki editor also, and I'd like if we both became admins. I have written one of the most visited articles. I had no idea this feature of adopting wiki's until wafercrisp wrote "I'm gonna go see if we can adopt this page, since there are no active admins.". Well, I hope this is enough text for ya!

Since November of 2010, the founder and only administrator of the Happy Wheels Wiki has been inactive. Me and other users have attempted to contact him via email, but he has not responded to us. It's hard to manage a wiki with only regular users. I would like bureaucrat rights in order to add other admins and bureaucrats to the Wiki, and help it grow and organize it into an even better site. Stupid Mario Brothers Wiki (on hold)

I would like to adopt Stupid Mario Brother Wiki.

The only admin on this wiki has been active, and there has been a fair emount of traffic coming in and out of the wiki. The wiki is currently pretty messy, with alot of pages queued up for Speedy Deletion, and pages locked from editing. With sysop and bureaucrat powers that I and other people I may nominate obtain, this wiki will be cleaned up and organised alot easier.

Hello, I was wondering if I could adopt multiverse wiki. I looked in the logs and it looks to me like it was just made and abandoned, no work put into it at all, and was last used in january this year for a cross-wiki spam removal, and was mainly used by the wikiabot in 2008. So it looks like it hasn't been touched in a very long time. I would like to use it for a story place where people can submit universe ideas and stories and such stuff like that.

El Goonish Shive Wiki (approved)

Hello. I would like to adopt the El Goonish Shive Wiki. The bureaucrat for the wiki has been inactive for over 7 months now and neither of the two existing admins have edited in the last 4 months. There have been only 2 other users active in the last 60 days. One of them is the automated Wikia account and the other is a new user who registered in the last month. I have edited the wiki more than any other user on it and have created 4 new pages in the main namespace. I have collaborated with other users in defining goals for the wiki and have contributed toward reaching those goals. I have also taken it upon myself to keep the wiki up to date when possible. I would like to be granted admin status (and bureaucrat rights if you see fit) so I can provide the wiki with the new features Wikia has to offer and perform maintenance on the wiki I do not currently have the rights to do. Plug Wiki (on hold)

(Not so) long ago, before I had this account, I made one specifically to make a wiki called the Plug Wiki. Since then, I have become majorly inactive there, and eventually forgot my password, leaving no admins there. I would like bureaucrat rights there, since it's still a wiki that I technically created. Well, my IP address changed. It used to be 68.39.14.59. The fact that I know Plugboy's IP can be used as evidence. In addition, someone who would create a wiki for plugs would have knowledge of them. I forgot the password before actually adding much content, but I know that a plug with prongs arranged like this "-|" is a NEMA 2-20. As for why I don't want a new password, I've decided that it doesn't make much sense to have two accounts. I would suggest getting a new password anyway so that you can confirm to Brandon that you are who you say you are. Total Drama Comeback Wiki (approved)

Hi, my name is Per Ankh, and I'd like to adopt the Total Drama Comeback wiki. The wiki was created back in 2009, and was practically empty when I found it a few months ago, apparently abandoned by it's creator, LonefireNinja.

There admins (if there are any, which I doubt), have been inactive for over 60 days, and edits are made only every few days, with major bursts of editing only happening occasionally. I have never founded a wiki, or adopted one in my life (this is my first), and I have never been blocked. I have contributed constantly to the wiki, and added several pages to it. And I always make an effort to talk to other users, and I have added several pictures related to the topic, and scolded users who add inappropriate images. I have kept the wiki neat and tidy ever since I discovered it, caring forr it as I would a child.

I have fulfilled all the necessary requirements for adoption. Please, accept my request. I thank you for your time.

Dead 'Gods and Heroes' wikia (approved)

This wikia ( http://godsandheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page ) has been dead since 2007, with almost zero content and no activity except for that of me and one of the two others I am planning to admin with. (Grayven)

With the game in rising beta, it still has no active wikia. We hope to adopt and revive this one, and already have plans for graphics, backgrounds, stylistic ideas, and content ideas. We have the assistance of a coder/web designer and have no other projects or wikias to take care of.

Although the game will be going down for beta maintenance over the next week, we are hoping to have this wikia set up and running so that we can immediately begin working on it once beta comes back up.

War of Angels Wiki (approved)

Greetings,

I am looking to adopt the War of Angels Wiki, a wiki devoted to the War of Angels MMORPG. The original founder of the wiki created the project and abandoned it by the next day. Since then, there has been one other user to attempt to do something with the project, but their last edit was back in February. I attribute both of these occurences to how the game was developed. The game's development and community teams seem to have found how to give the players what they want, but - at this point - it is up to the current players to spread the word and make the gameplay knowledge available to incoming players, so we can progress as a community.

I expect the War of Angels Wiki to be the central base of information of this game (quite possibly exceeding that of the publisher), but let's face it: there are going to be scenarios where an bureaucrat will be required. I am more than willing to fill this role. Although I only started keying in information yesterday, in the past 48 hours I have managed to not only build upon the amount of data in the project, but also have created a sound organizational structure which can easily expand to our future requirements. I've been working to get the basic game information into the project accurate (and fast) as possible, so I can move on more in-depth game mechanics which is what will attract contributers to the project.

I will not lie ... this is my first formal attempt at working this in-depth on a wiki. In the past, I've made edits to Eorzeapedia (an external, Final Fantasy 14 wiki) as well as a Redmine-based wiki (used at my place of work). Yesterday, I was very excited to discover templates along with "magic words" and have already begun applying them to key "roles" (i.e. items, player classes). Today, I utilized the site maintenance pages and worked to clear up discrepencies through-out the wiki. Also, I laid out a makeshift roadmap, so it would be clear which features of the game we have yet to bring into the project.

Although, I understand I will probably not be considered today or even tomorrow; I do hope you consider me for the bureaucrat role sometime in the near future. I appreciate the time spent reading my massive wall of text.

bcrat glitch not letting me make bcrat changes? (Not an Adoption Request)

hello i and the founder of starhawk.wikia.com when i go to try and give my roomate who is helping me admin privilages it says i dont have those permisions but im listed as a b-crat. i got blocked on another wikia because of a dispute over what video should be in a thread and me and a user kept changing it back and forth and instead of locking it i got blocked and that person promoted and they just keep blocking me every day. could that be affecting me? and they should ahve just locked it not blocked me they are absuing new found power.. i have made over 90 edits on that wikia really sad. but that is the only reason i could think its not working can you help fix my bcrat stat. thanks for your help maybe its just a glitch.

I'd like to adopt http://bonsai.wikia.com. I've been studying bonsai for about 3 years and have a few of my own. I apprecaite the concept of free accurate information and would love to promote it in a field I love. My interest in adopting this wikia are as follow:

1. As someone who researches Bonsai for hours on end, I wish there was a single source for info that not only contained a substantial amount of information but had clear flow. Other bonsai information sites sometimes have helpful articles, but they use designs that are not conducive to new users.

2. In my studies, I'd feel it would be effecient to have a centralized location to slowly build upon as I search for articles and word-of-mouth advice (which is common for this field).

3. Because my bonsai need to rest and grow most of the year, I'd like a Bonsai project to work on during the colder months like this wikia.

4. Much of the information I collect is from discussions on bonsai forums. Few forums are notorious for frustrating search features. I'd like to make a site that makes it easy to locate articles ideally without the search feature if possible.

5. My hobbies as include graphic design and photography which would help make a much easier-to-read wikia

6. This particular wikia need some serious TLC that I have the patience to provide and culture.

Although my previous paticipation in Wikia specifically is limited, I am a steady responder on forums to assist others with their questions. I feel I could use that same self motivation on this page.

Well, as I see that Microwiki shall not be deleted, etc, it could be put to new use. I am an active user on the new MicroWiki and I feel that the old Microwiki(a) could be used well as a source for other micronational information, and I'd be happy to adopt it. To be quite fair, if you guys left, it's your issue. I've been recently absent due to school work, and would like to adopt it. I was part of the so called "new wiki", but I want to go back to the old place. Things are easier to manage. I thought in the beginning to remove some articles of mine, but after thinking about it, why not just become its Admin and put it back on track? Hi. It appears that Joetheiceman's main contribution to the wiki recently has been to blank the mainpage and replace it with a link to the forked wiki. Secundomia is currently blocked and does not appear to have made any constructive edits recently either. Neither is eligible to adopt the wiki. Most of the rest who have commented on this thread are inactive on the wiki, and thus not in a position to decide on new leadership for the wiki.

Cajak, you appear to have made a few useful edits but are mostly inactive. If/when you have more time to contribute, start a community discussion about choosing new admins for the wiki. I have recently started to cleanup the I Am Number Four Wikia. It would be very beneficial to my campaign if I had B-Catand Admin Rights. The only activity at the wikia besides mine are unregistered users leaving comments and answering random questions. It appears to me that there are no other active users. Shugo Chara! Wiki (declined)

Hey i am asking to have the main admin and bureaucracy rights at the Shugo Chara! Wikia. I'm only editing there for three days to make things right in state because most of the articles are somewhat messy. The main admin isn't active since 2009 that gives away the right. A note to admins: Upon a visit to the wiki, it appears very active, with 538 content pages (which the wiki refers to as Heart Eggs). To end this little debate, Gp7, it does not matter if others have edited the wiki so long as its not an admin. That being said, the wiki should be ineligible as an admin last edited a few days ago and is fairly active. Also, PGPIX, adopting a wiki means to become ask for admin and bureaucrat rights when there are no active ones so yes, you are asking to adopt it. GodPray  05:32,6/7/2011

@PGPIX I'm not being combative. I'm just being neutral and providing facts about the wiki's eligibility for adoption to administration. Trust me, as a wiki editor, sometimes you'll get your feelings tread on. I'm not trying to step on your feelings, but if you're angered by something, you don't need to retaliate. You just need to go off and edit something else for a while until you cool down.

That being said, there is no point in persisting in your adoption request. As much as it may hurt, the wiki is simply ineligible for adoption. If the aforementioned admin in Godisme's comment has registered an email address, you can email them using the Special:EmailUser function (type Special:EmailUser/[admin's username], otherwise it won't work) asking for admin rights. Alienware Wiki (on hold)

I would like to adopt the Alienware Wiki.

Is the wiki inactive?

Yes; it was created in March, as far as I can tell. The only edit is by a bot creating the wiki's main page.

Are you eligible to adopt?

Yes. The last wiki I created was [Gran Turismo Answers Wiki] over a couple months ago. Besides that, I have not created a new wiki in three years, and I was removed as an administrator of Burnout Wiki nearly two years ago.

Are you contributing to the wiki's content?

Not at the moment; there are no policies concerning what pages should contain. I intend to add these policies first before creating articles or editing the wiki.

Are you building the community?

Right now there isn't a community at all on the Alienware Wiki; I plan to build this as I go along.

What would you do with the wiki?

(I added this question myself.) I would like to build the wiki a little (maybe to 20 pages?) and then hand the role of lead administrator over to a user who I know will look after the wiki. During my administration, I would also rebrand it as "AlienWiki - the Alienware Wiki".

The Heroes In The Sky Wiki (on hold)

I would like to take it over, since the last and only edit was July 19, 2010. The Wiki consists of one page only, and it seems it has no admin/bureaucrat at the moment.

I haven't been contributing at all at the moment because I am currently in school at the moment. I will start work on this next week, as I will be on my summer break.

To the contrary, it does. However, this user (Anonyplant) has only edited once, which was why AP wasn't shown by default (in tge drop-down menu, you have to select either "I time or more" or "All users").

Eden Eternal wiki Admin Status (approved)

Hello i'm Liosrakia I'm trying to get admin status/highest status (and adpot eventually) for the site Eden Eternal Wiki. I really don't know what else to say- I seem to have to credentials for it. You seem to be confused as to what an adoption is. To adopt a wiki means to take a wiki without an active admin and receive admin and bureaucrat status yourself on said wiki so as to look out for it and take care of it. To do so, the admin needs to have been inactive for 60 days or more. To make pages you do not need admin status. --GodPray  04:39,6/8/2011  -

I don't think you understood what I was asking for-obviously as seen by my edits I know how to make pages I'm assuming you didn't check the link-it doesn't matter anyway: It turns out the person who started the wiki site was an inexpeienced user who was not reaching out or editing the wiki who I am now working with to give me and other players admin status. I'm not going to argue, but that rule is positively ridiculous. I've had my full attention on jeep wiki for over a month. 975 edits is probably more than anyone else has done In their request to adopt. What is this 60-day rule going to accomplish? I've got plenty of time for both jeep and gardening wikis. There are also tons of things I need admin powers to do, designing a new skin, some CSS and JS needs customization to make the wiki-tables look better. Yume Nikki Wiki (approved)

Hello, I'd like to have sysop and bureaucrat rights for Yume Nikki Wiki. The only existing admin was the wiki founder and has been inactive since May 16, 2009 (over two years ago!).

I feel the wiki would definitely benefit from having a more active Admin, given that we seem to be accumulating spam pages and files that haven't been deleted, and the wiki could do with a bit of presentational improvements that only Admin rights can approve, since the format and everything seems a bit... 'default'.

Other users seem to come and go: Typically, the pattern is that a new user appears every few weeks, makes a few edits (usually minor), starts a few wanted pages, loses interest and is never seen again. I think I'm the only user that sticks around. It's unusual to see many edits in the revision history that don't have my name (or IP address - Sometimes I forget to log in) by them.

I hope that I can continue to improve this wiki, the subject has quite a cult following and I feel it deserves a well-maintained and informative guide. Thanks. //TenhGrey 19:53, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

According to some information I've gathered, the last administrator hasn't edited for more than six months. What we are mean is that we want administration rights at the least. There are admins on sometimes, but only for a little while. While they ARE online they don't deal with any vandalism or anything that us regular users can handle because we don't have the "rights."

I would like to adopt the Emoticon Wiki because there are no admins or breaus at the moment, and the place is overflowing with vandals and pages in the category of deletion. I am the only registered user to make any edits in the last 2 years or so, and I have created a page with an thorough guide and attempted to make it as sightly as I can, but the previous owner/admin has failed to even create any pages whatsoever. And to set up the whole wikia all together I require administration to edit the theme etc.

I'm currently working on this Eden Eternal Wiki, and along with a few other members, have decided to take administration of the wiki.

I do know that Liosrakia has made a previous post on this. However, we are desperate to receive full admin status.

Our inactive Admin cannot allow us to progress the wiki further and as Liosrakia is currently off for the weekend, I would like to recieve admin status, then share it with him and any other users we think would benefit the wiki. As for myself, I think that although that I'm relatively new to this wiki, I have previous experience working on the Allods Wiki and that I will ensure that Eden Eternal Wiki will be as higly managed. Hi, I was wondering if I could adopt the Dino Run Wiki .When I asked our present admin (Killerbreadbug72 ) if I could be an admin they left me this message,

Good afternoon;

I wanted to request the rights of administrator of the Freezing wiki for the following reasons (as the same time I'll be answering the 4 question):

• The last time that the current admin (Makri1993) edited was 28/1/11 and in every 1-2 weeks there's a edition (without conting mine).

Donkey Kong Wiki (declined)

Hello! I am requesting to adopt this wiki for a few reasons. The reason can be seen below:

• The wiki hardly has any contributors (I saw this after seeing I'm the only one in the wiki activity)
• I am the only one earning badges on the wiki. (Meaning that I am the only one putting a ton of effort into the wiki's content)
• I am the only registered user that has contributes regularly. (Admins have moved to another site)
• I also looked at the user log rights to see that there hasn't been any promotions in months (showing bureacrats' inactivity)
• I checked the contributions of the sysops, and they havn't made an edit for months/years.
• I feel that if I receive the requested adoption, I can make the wiki grow and welcome more users to contribute to it.

Unofficial Response: I have just looked at the logs and most of what you have said is incorrect.

This wiki is not eligible for adoption as admins HavocReaper48 and RustyPete12 have edited recently; there are a number of normal users editing the wiki as well. Also, please note that badges do not count for anything in adoptions, and 12 hours is not a big enough window for inactivity.

Hi. Both the wiki and the user must be eligible in order for an adoption to happen. I'm not clear why you can't wait a few weeks until the 60days are up since you started Pappapedia but if you want it closed then you need to use Special:Contact; that aside, you do not have the consistent editing on the East Enders wiki also required for you to be eligible to adopt it. In fact you have made almost no edits there at all. Adopt Leverage Wiki (on hold)

I'd like to adopt the Leverage [4] wiki and become its admin. It has an admin who has not been active since January, 2011 aside from a couple edits in March, 2011. It's a sporadically active wiki with a very small number of regular editors; with promotion, it could become far more active. It badly needs more of an editorial style -- one editor is fond of creating lists of information rather than text, which is meaningful if you watch the show regularly (which sort of defeats the purpose of the Wiki), but is largely meaningless to a casual reader. Another doesn't know the rules for proper v. common nouns. It's also plagued with stub articles and red links that need attention. Mostly, it needs someone who will be on it regularly, stay on top of these issues, and generally keep it up.

I've made over 300 edits since I registered in December 2010, set up the season four pages, and added a number of new pages. I'm an experienced Wiki editor, and a published academic author, so I have the experience and writing skills needed to be an admin. I'm also committed to learning the advanced HTML I may need to improve the wiki.

This is a popular show with a very active fan group. With a little energy and an active admin, the wiki could grow and develop considerably. The new season is due to start June 26, so now is the perfect time to put an active admin in place.

X-Men Films Wiki

Hi.

I recently came upon X-Men Films Wiki, and being a fan of the series for quite some time, I joined and edited. I re-did the main page (at the time there was a picture and text), added information, uploaded photos, created pages, and tagged some for deletion. I plan on making templates for movies, characters, groups, and more. I don't believe I've created a wiki since April 21, 2011. I've already thought of a theme and made a logo, and I have over 250 edits I am striving to make a lot more. The founder hasn't edited since August 2009, and the only other user there hasn't edited since in the early 2010. I am the sole member on the wiki. Please think over giving me sysop access.

Deadly Premonition Wiki

I would like to adopt the Deadly Premonition wiki. (http://deadlypremonition.wikia.com/wiki/Deadly_Premonition_Wiki)

I have been making edits to the wiki for quite some time, adding new content and photos, and trying to expand on the admin's (very good) foundations. I plan on continuing my edits to make the pages more uniform in structure, as well as adding links to other DP websites that have similar content. The current administrator has not logged in to the wiki in nearly a year, so I cannot ask him about certain changes (themes, deleting pages, etc.) that require admin powers. -Lady Sorcha (17 June 2011)

I would like to request administrative rights in order to "clean up" The Nightmare House Wiki page. By the looks of things, it appears to have been inactive for a considerably long period of time. Request to take control of a wiki...

A user created this group, http://islandtrolltribes.wikia.com, awhile back, the page is for a map played in a game known as WC3, for the most part, this has stayed updated to a certain extent. But, just under a year ago, the editors of the MAP, passed the map onto a new editor (me). I have had issues with the administrator of this page in the past, and he REFUSES to awknowledge me as the current editor, and any version of the map that has been released, which has had so many changes, that the wiki is no longer actually current. He also goes on to make wild claims against me, and the community that still plays on the newer versions of this map. I am requesting to have admin of this page, in order to fully update it to the latest information.

If any proof is needed that I am the current owner of the map, and the sole owner of it, look at facebook, and twgb.tk.

Toxic Ninja keeps claiming "unofficial nonsense", yet, I am the one who now owns the map, and he is not, so who is he to decide that the map isn't official when I am the one that has control of the map?

I just want all the information updated, as people DO come here for newer items in that game, and how to obtain them, yet find no information on them.

Also, just to further prove he thinks he is in control of "official" he even tells people there are no more releases.

And to further prove, he has gone inactive, till he caught wind that I actually got proof that showed I was the rightfull editor, and owner of the map, and thus made a page on the wiki.

Then I will be filing a DMCA take down request, he was inactive for over two months, and bashs members of the community, which I figured was against your guidelines.
