Community Central:Adoption requests

This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Exo-Force wiki (on hold)

Hi, I have added about 100 pages to the site, and have made an effort to talk to other users, and yet no one has replied, the site has been inactive for almost two years. I have edited all the other pages that were already there, and nothing has happened, there are no users, except one unregistered contributer made an edit about a month ago. thanks!

Yes, I told them about me recently becoming an admin, and told them if I see them working hard and not being rude or vandalizing, or breaking any other sort of rules, that I would make them and admin and a part of my staff. Joev14 16:39, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Bulletstorm Wiki (approved)

Hi, I would like to adopt the Bulletstorm wiki. I've created a few articles on the wiki. The Founder, SkaterGameDude haven't been on the wiki since May. Also there are not a few people editing there. What I really request is for a regular member of the wiki to get promoted to admin or rollback status.

MS Paint Adventures Wiki (approved)

Howdy. I would like to be made into an admin on the MS Paint Adventures Wiki. I left a request on the bureaucrat's talk page a few days ago, but it seems like he hasn't been active for a while, so I don't know if it's going to get addressed any time soon.

There are other active users with edit counts higher/close to mine, but most of my edits have been grand, sweeping and/or template-related, like completely revamping the navbox and infobox templates. I linger in the Recent Changes page like a hawk, trying to answer any questions or fulfill any requests I come across.

One of the main reasons I'd like to become an admin is because it would give me access to the wiki's CSS and JS pages, which as of this writing are somewhat lacking. We cannot create collapsible navboxes, for one thing. I thought that was enabled by default, actually, but whatever. Extensions like tabber need to have their CSS edited so they can match the overall aesthetic, etc. etc.

I made a subject on the community portal here, but people aren't really posting to it. I don't think its because they don't want me to be an admin or anything, but just that they don't know about it or don't care enough about the subject to make a post... or something? Okay... Again, the community portal topic I started on the wiki in question 3 days ago has not given rise to any complaints, and I don't think any is coming. I don't think anyone has any problem with me being given admin rights, so...? It doesn't seem that I can. As far as I can tell, that seems to be a Bureaucratic power, and the only Bureaucrat on the wiki is the guy who created it (whose last act was making me and User:Kbmr admins in July 2009). Okay, so obviously Stuart is okay with me being an admin, considering he's fine with me being a bureaucrat. People have replied on the community portal that they're okay with me being an admin. Also, the wiki needs a new bureaucrat. Maybe giving three people those rights is a bit much, but we really do need to give those powers to someone that's actually active. Hello, I'm wanting to adopt car.wikia.com I noticed the last edit was in May 29, 2010. I was planning on making a similar wiki but found it. Also, the reason I haven't created a new page is because the wiki is a little confusing on what it's about. Website is car.wikia.com but the title is Australian Market. Adminship for the Shining Wiki. (closed)

Hi. I was wondering if I could apply for adminship on the shining wiki, since I got a letter on my talk page there saying that there are no local admins on it, and I would like to help. I know I've done little to the shining wiki, due to discovering it only recently, but I'm sure if I could help the Animal Crossing wiki greatly, and become a rollbacker on it in the first few weeks, I can contribute a good amount to the Shining Wiki. Holby City Wiki (closed)

Hi, I'd like to adopt the Holby City Wiki. The reason I would like to do this is that me and another user, Solar Dragon, are both admins at Casualty Wiki. The two series crossover in many episodes and we feel it would be better if both wikis work together. However, Holby City Wiki has been abandoned and the only admin ther no longer contributes to wikia.

Our plan, if you give me adoption, is:

• Run Casualty and Holby City wikis as 'sister' wikis
• Casualty articles are over at Casualty Wiki
• Holby City articles are over at Holby City Wiki
• Crossovers between episodes and charcters link across (e.g. 16 Feb Holby Episode where Charlie had his operation - Links to 'Charlie Fairhead' link to Casualty Wiki, Casualty Episode 'Entry Wounds' - Links to 'Donna Jackson' link to Holby City Wiki)
• Both sites are maintained together by both me and Solar Dragon - We already have a skin ready and have made plans on how to upgrade both sites.

I understand my account does not quite meet the specifications needed, but it would help improve both sites if you have me adoption.

We plan to work together to get the wikis up and running to the standards they should be. We need to make it more attractive to fraw in more users. Well, none of us exactly know a lot about Holby City. we just want to do the skin up in order to attract new contributors who do know a lot about it. Hi I'm Semper fi 45 17:46, September 1, 2010 (UTC) and i've been working on the killer bunnies wiki for about a month now. there are no current admins. the one who created the wiki did some edits then left. the only other person working on it besides me is magic carrot admin. I know that my user does not meet specifications but it would help this wiki grow

Unfortunately, that's also not that clear. You all agreed that Chewiki would get "owner rights," but there are no such rights. There's founder status, but that's only given to the person who started the wiki and can't be given to anyone else. The most we can give here is bureaucrat rights, which Jenny and Nick are also asking for. So, what we would do is give all three of you the same rights, or we could give Chewiki bureaucrat and admin rights and then give Jenny and Nick just admin rights without bureaucrat rights. Requesting Tropes Wikia for user RPG Master (on hold)

Tropes Wikia would, if successful, be a replacement for TV Tropes, only with friendlier User Interface, no garbage ads, and most importantly, no corrupt admins that ban you without warning for minor infractions at most.

I am recommending having RPG Master able to adopt the Wikia. Not myself, I would want Rollback at the most to deter troll shenanigans. RPG Master would likely figure out who would be fit to have adminship or whatnot, a natural must for making sure the Wikia would go without a hitch given that the intent would be replacing a site as big as TV Tropes.

Criteria? Fire away.

• Is the wiki inactive? - yes, certainly before I found it via search and advertised it to a few people only for a troll vandal to stalk me.

• No sustained editing by other users - only edits done by me, RPG Master, and the vandal.
• Admins have been inactive for 60 days - only one admin and he/she/it/**** has been inactive since mid-March.

• Are you eligible to adopt? - I'm recommending another user. I'll see what you have for standards.

• You have not founded, adopted or been given admin access on another wiki in the last 60 days - I don't think RPG Master has done that. I've actually been offered adminship on the Advance Wars Wikia but declined, if simply given the potential complications there. RPG Master would not have to deal with such complications.
• You have not been blocked on another Wikia project - I doubt RPG Master has.

• Are you contributing to the wiki's content? - RPG Master is reverting vandalism.

• You have edited on the wiki (the more the better) - vandalism revision, also fixed a page up a bit.
• You have created at least one new page (the more the better) - Mandatory Tutorial

• Are you building the community? - that's the plan

• You make an effort to talk to other users -- you've left friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responded to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. - I guarantee he will either do that or give privileges to those who will.
• You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- update news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. - again planned for.

As you see, the majority of the criteria fits, and the rest is just plain planned for. The pages need cleanup right now, but the work on the Wikia will take its time before any real progress can be done. The priority would be to get the Wikia under control. I have recently become in charge of another wiki, the exo-force wiki, and am going to host a contest for a fan-created Exo-force model, the winner will become the new owner of the exo-force fanon wiki (with me still as an admin, just in case things get out of hand). Warriors Fanfiction Wiki (approved)

I would like to adopt Warriors Fanfiction Wiki.

My history there- I am the most active user there (slowing down, trying to adapt to high school), I have been admin before, but another admin overthrew me. I have made good, positive edits there. I am also a beta user- I looked at the requirements above and saw that wasn't on there.

Currently, we have one active admin, but she isn't there when we need her to be. Our founder doesn't care about the wiki anymore (Eulalia459678- I'm sure you all know him).

And I agree. This is a big wiki with many members and contributors and we can't only have one admin. I try to be on as much as I can, but it's not possible for me to always be on.

• It seems like the community, at least the way I read the responses, assumed this was an admin rights request, because Hiddensun is an admin too already. I'm new to the wiki, but in the last, well, night, I've made quite a few contributions, fixed up some articles, added new content and pages, and really, I'd like to adopt the wiki. The founder of the wiki has been inactive since April and is also the only administrator and bureaucrat of the wiki. Normally I would wait to apply, but I feel this wiki is in dire need of help. Syphon Filter Wiki (on hold)

Hello, I am a semi-active editor on the Syphon Filter Wiki, and I would like to gain administrative rights for that wiki so that I may help with the improvement of quality and standardization of that particular wiki. Request to Adopt and become a Bureaucrat on Dragon Ball Fanon Wiki (approved)

Hello. I would like to become a bureaucrat of http://www.dragonballfanon.wikia.com The reason is because there is only one administrator (SSWerty) and the Bureaucrat in-charge-of the wiki (Nvander) is inactive. The administrator SSWerty is very helpful but he finds it difficult to manage a vast Wiki with articles over 800 by himself. I feel that the Wiki cannot be managed by one administrator and so I would like to become a bureaucrat and adopt the wiki. A user named 900. 500. on the Fanon Wiki has been cursing other users and vandalizing pages. He has been banned by our current administrator but only after a good amount of cursing and vandalism so I feel that if more threats are to arise, there should be someone else to protect the Wiki. I have created 2 pages, one which is huge and have uploaded many pictures. I have over 700 edits and I'm an expert at handling wikis. I have posted a couple of blogs, a one of these blogs have over 200 comments. I'm friends with many of users and we chat a lot. I always help others in need. The reason that I want to become a Bureaucrat is because Nvander is highly inactive and he last logged on some 4-5 months ago. Nvander seems to have deserted the Wiki. There should at least be one active bureaucrat (me) so that I can make other honest, and good users administrators. Many have been requesting our current admin. SSWerty to become administrators also but he cannot help as he is not a bureaucrat. The threat named 900. 500. has returned by creating a new account and by changing his IP address. We think that he is a hacker. So, in order to protect the Wiki, I ask you to make me an bureaucrat. Please. Please reply soon. I have also asked the users on that Wiki if they have any objections with me becoming a bureaucrat. They replied to me that they have no objections as long as I maintain the Wiki well and develop it. I have made 231 edits as of this moment and am very active; I try to check the Wiki every day for article clean up. I would like to be an admin on Wiksteria lane, mainly because I am truly in love with the show, Desperate Housewives, and also, I believe that I am a good contributor to wiki's (If you see me on lostpedia). Secondly, there is only 2 active admins on the wiki I believe, I think I read it that there is only two active admins. But obviously, the wiki is lacking in detail in pages, and information is all wrong, I mean a page for Bree has her name from Season 1, in Season 6 now, it is still her old husbands name... Irwin Allen Wiki (on hold)

Hi,

It looks like nobody is administrating the Irwin Allen Wiki pages and there have been a lot of opinion based, and not very well written, articles posted by an unregistered contributor. Both admins have been inactive for a year or more. I know I don't contribute a whole lot, but I would be interested in adopting these pages to at least insure a higher quality of posting. And if someone else comes along who wants to adopt them, if I'm not spending enough time on them, I'll be happy to step down. But nobody's watching over them now, so I submit that I'm better than nothing. :-)

Millsberry Wiki

Dinopedia adoption request

Hello, I would like to adopt the Dinopedia Wiki.

None of the current admins have made any edits in several months, the last Administrator to edit the wiki was T-Rex 882 on July 24th 2010.

The wiki has also been recently vandalized, though I fixed all the pages I could, but there are still several pages that need to be deleted.

My interest in the show is via YouTube, since the show is long discontinued on ABCFamily, and I also have most of the series dvd's. It is being broadcast now in over a dozen countries with a new surge of interest. I've been trying to update the website to meet that quite different curiosity, with presently just over 200 substantive edits including corrections, expansions, and new pages. Admin will allow me to also edit boilerplate formats and templates. There has been very slight other user activity and no recent spam, but at my previous MediaWiki site, it was useful to be able to Block, for instance.
