Drawn to life (Accepted)Edit

hellsing wiki (Declined)Edit

i would like to adopt the hellsing wiki as i know quite a fair bit about hellsing and the page(s0 are quite scarce and don't provide much information for others looking at watching the anime and OVA's or looking at reading the manga. i would be able to make a huge contribution to that particular page, so please let me adopt this poor lost hellsing page.

Hi Jonathan. I'm glad that you are interested in writing about books. May I suggest, however, that the type of pages you are making would fit better on Literature Wiki. If you read the front page, you will see that Books Wiki was intended to function as a place for "meta-data" on books; links and information, but not long descriptions. There seems little purpose in duplicating the type of content that already exists on a different wiki. That aside, I only see one real article that you have made on the wiki, and you've only been working there for two days. Programming Wiki (Accepted)Edit

This looks like a good merger, and it doesn't seem there are any objections. You won't need admin rights to use w:c:Special:Export from Programming; just let me know when it's done and I will disable the wiki and redirect the url http://programming.wikia.com to http://code.wikia.com (although in my opinion Programming might be the better title for the combined wiki -- we could just as easily change the url of the current Code wiki to programming.wikia, leaving code.wikia as a redirect. http://code.wikia.com already has a community, so would redirecting it to http://programming.wikia.com cause any disturbance? Either way, I'll ask the former wiki's admin for his opinion and link over here.
I actually did export the pages I haven't already copied manually, but I can't import them because I'm not an admin at the destination wiki. Sorry I misunderstood -- I thought you were already an admin on Code. Yes, you can either send the XML file generated by Special:Export to an existing admin (via email, file hosting, Yousendit, etc), or s/he can generate their own XML file from Programming, or you can ask if a Code bureaucrat would be willing to make you a (possibly temporary) admin there so that you can handle the Special:Import.

And yes, if we change the url of code.wikia to programming.wikia, leaving code.wikia as a redirct, all old links will function the same. It's up to the communities to decide; I just think that "programming wiki" is something potential new users are more likely to be looking for than "code wiki". If the redirect won't disrupt anything, why do we need the articles exported? Or does "function the same" somehow mean one wiki's articles will be hidden from non-staff?
EDIT: Also, my main problem with the "programming" subdomain is that some computer languages (e.g. CSS, HTML, and XML) are not programming languages, although they are handled by programs. --Jesdisciple (talk) 01:48, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

You're right, it could use a steady admin. Could you create and customize some welcome templates there? You can copy the ones from Template:Welcome and Template:WelcomeIP if you like. Then you can start using them to say hello to new users (those with red "Talk" links on Recent changes). You recently requested an Arkansas wiki as well, and that request as approved. Try focusing your efforts there for a while. The Left Behind Wiki: A Wiki of the Earth's Last Days (Accepted) Edit

Hello All!

I would like to adopt the Left Behind Wiki. I think I qualify for all of the requirements above, but there are a few catches:

1.) There have been two other editors on the wiki helping me, but they have both personally told me that they aren't interested in adopting it (for proof see this page).
2.) I haven't created all twenty of the pages I needed to create, but by the time anyone will get to this I will have already created them.
3.) I haven't fully been on the wiki for two full weeks, but on the ninth of this month it will be exactly two weeks.


I have fully changed the main page. I have not founded a wiki yet. I have not been granted admin rights anywhere. I have never been blocked on any wiki project. I have expanded and fixed a bunch of pages. I have created a welcome template, and it is in the process of getting customized. I have welcomed all new editors. I have answered all questions and comments on my talk page.

I would like to become a bureaucrat if possible, too, if my request is accepted.

I see that there are now a few other users which changes things a little. Could you please welcome them on their talk pages, and make a template to welcome any further contributors (per the guidelines on this page). And then set up a page in either the Forum or the Community Portal (or wherever you want) saying that you want to adopt the wiki, and inviting comments. As an impartial party,

I am sick of seeing CAW's Wikia being vandalised. There are people who have CAWs and CAW leagues that work hard on their profiles as they do on their leagues.

Now take it for what you will but we either need someone who's always going to remain neutral and nip trouble in the bud or institute a new rule for the Wikias where ONLY people who have signed up can edit pages. I wish I could say I'm qualified for it but there is no qualification for it.....Give someone the job and see what they can do. That's all I have to say.

Weebl's Stuff Wiki (Accepted) Edit

After an embarrassing experience at the Requests Wiki, I became the only active member of this abandoned wiki and I gave the owner over a week to come back, like Catherine suggested, and he didn't, so I'm requesting to take the wiki over. I even redesigned the Main Page, the logo, and the welcome template. So far, I've made/remade 25 decent pages and I think it's ready for me to adopt. Here all of my edits there. As to a name change, we've found that sites ranks higher in search engines if the wiki's topic ("Weebl's Stuff"), which people are most likely to use as search keywords, is used in the sitename. No, that's not a surname. Wookieepedia appears as Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki because of their modifications to MediaWiki:Pagetitle (See w:c:starwars:MediaWiki:Pagetitle). You can do the same. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 14:19, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

I tried to create a Voltron Wiki since there isn't one yet, but I got the message there already was one. I look through the list of wiki, and its not there, no requested wiki called Voltron to be found anywhere at all, nor is it on the adopt a wiki page. If someone else was going to make it, shouldn't it be listed somewhere? Please help. There is a lot of great information which those editing the regular Wikipedia thought made the article far too long, and I want to restore it since I found all that stuff interesting, plus add additional things as well. Left 4 Dead (Withdrawn) Edit

Hello-

I am asking to be added as an administrator/bureaucrat for the Left 4 Dead wiki. The current administrator is ShadoW[1], and he did a very good job on creating a wiki for an unreleased game, but now that it's almost time for the game to be released (it is released the 18th), a lot of people are going to be adding content to the wiki and several things need to be changed around (such as a few things on the side-menu thing, whatever it's called).

I've spent several hours[2] editing the wiki, and I'm soon going to look into overhauling the CSS if at all possible. I check up on the wiki at least once a day to see if anything has changed of importance, and I've had a clean track record with Wikia.

I know that pretty much none of the main requirements for adoption are fulfilled here (ShadoW was on the wiki eight days ago), but with a game so close to release, it is my opinion that the wiki needs a dedicated, consistent administrator/bureaucrat to keep things in line, even if it is just temporary until ShadoW starts to become active again. I've left messages on his user talk page, but he has yet to reply to them.

Infinite Undiscovery wiki (Accepted) Edit

The current rules set up really do not work for this wiki as it is undermade and abaonded 2 months ago by the founder. I have made its existance known on GameFAQ and am asking pwople i know on wikipedia to help me finish the needed stuff like templates and whatnot. The two weeks is a reasonable allotment in order for you to show us what kind of work you'd put in on the wiki. There is actually lots of work that can be done on inactive wikis as a regular contributor before adoption is needed. If you need help understanding any of the requirements, I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have. You'll need to work on the wiki for about a little over a week and a half more and create 18 more new articles and continue to expand existing articles. Ensure to welcome any of the contributors that you're trying to attract, this is important to building a strong and healthy community. Jakezing2, the guidelines were put in place to make sure that people were really interested in working on the topic, not just looking for a new "badge" to wear. If a person is not willing to work on a wiki for two weeks, or to help build new content, then we don't feel they are reliable or interested enough to be a good administrator. The new pages will only be "tiny and underformed" if that's the way you make them, since building good articles is not something that requires admin rights. starshiptroopers.wikia.com (Accepted)Edit

Hello. I have been editing a wikia called starshiptroopers.wikia.com for over two months now. The wiki was basicly abandoned when I began editing and so far I have done the vast majority of the> editing along with one other person on it, and have completely reorganised it to make the site much easier to access and to understand. I have added dozens of new pages to it and where possible tried to reuse pages already set up from about a year ago (i believe). Currently there are only two people actively editing this wikia of which I am one , and I have done the vast amount of editing on it (neither of us are admistrators however have been working together to improve the site, and keep in regular contact). I have added three links to the main page so as to keep diffent universes (if that would be the correct word) of Starship Troopers appart ie I added a film section, a tv section, and a section for the Novel. I wondering if it could be made possible for me to adopt this wikia as I am wanting to improve it further and make it look more attractive so hopefully to be able to draw. Dead Space wiki (Accepted)Edit

I'm requesting adminship on the Dead Space wiki. The previous admin (MasterM) hasn't answered the message I left them on their talk page.
