Translations[]

Many pages here are listed in translations. I assume that these need to be translated first. It is not clear though how we should translate these pages. Should we add a note like "this translation is informative only. For the official policies, please see <page name>". Should we append "reference text" to page names (I did this to the Chinese translation of text of the GNU Free Documentation License)? Should we have someone check the translation and mark it as patrolled? Should the pages be protected as the English originals are?—Danielwang 00:01, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

One more thing, how should we add language links? For example, for GNUFDL text, do we add language links in the reference translations but not the the English original?—Danielwang 00:15, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

It's up to you which pages to translate first. It doesn't have to be policies. A notice about the original one being the only official one might be best. For the GFDL, this has to be done since the FSF don't recognise any translation as official. It might be worth checking gnu.org to see where they already have translations of the GFDL. As long as the pages say they're not official, they probably don't need to be protected or specially patrolled. Perhaps only if there is a dispute over any of them in future this might become an issue. For any protected pages, just add the language links in the other versions and an admin will hopegully notice and copy them to the English one. Thanks for all your work on these. It's great to see Wikicities becoming so multi-lingual. Angela (talk) 06:37, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

New policy pages?[]

I feel like maybe not all the policies are thoroughly reflected in pages here. Can there possibly be new pages to reflect new policy developments in certain areas?

For example: Community Central:Image Policy or something like that, to explain very thoroughly what staff are saying about images, embellishing on the ToU and how it is interpreted. +Yc 07:36, September 28, 2012 (UTC)

Guidelines category[]

It might be a good idea to put Guideline pages in Category:Guidelines instead of Category:Policy. -452 (talk) 16:38, May 20, 2014 (UTC)
