History

Timeshadow (Earth-616) from X-Factor Vol 1 5 0001

Timeshadow, from X-Factor #5

Not much is known about the past of the mutant who would eventually call himself Timeshadow. His first recorded appearance was in the same detox center as a co-patient of mutant junkie Mike Nowlan, hospitalized to kick his addiction to heroin following the Vietnam War. What Timeshadow was in the center for remains unrevealed. Upon his first encounter with Nowlan, Nowlan's powers to boost the natural abilities of other mutants triggered Timeshadow's latent mutant abilities.

Timeshadow later joined up with Apocalypse's Alliance of Evil and brought Mike in with him. Mike eventually broke free from Apocalypse's compound in California, sending Timeshadow and the other Alliance members after him. Nowlan came under the protection of X-Factor. The Alliance members clashed with X-Factor and defeated the heroes with reluctant assistance from Nowlan, whose wife Susan had been captured and used as blackmail.[1] X-Factor tracked the Alliance back to their headquarters and clash with them again. During the fight Nowlan's powers were unleashed, causing Timeshadow to uncontrollably shift back and forth in time. Nowlan and Susan died in the battle's aftermath, and Timeshadow and the Alliance evaded capture.[2]

Laying low for a time, Timeshadow and the other Alliance members later terrorized reporter Trish Tilby during a live report, in response to the newly passed Mutant Registration Act. The villains laid low X-Factor and their young charges before they were all single-handedly defeated by the Beast.[3]

The Alliance split up after this last encounter, and Timeshadow's subsequent activities remain unrevealed.
