- BUGFIX: We recently fixed an issue where the 'upload via URL' option would conflict with Special:MultipleUpload. (Thanks to the Volunteer Developers for this fix)
Here are the release notes for FANDOM's code release scheduled for October 24, 2017:
The release plan can depend on the severity of the issue - we'll still give it some thought.
Meanwhile, an additional note: on Monday we performed behind-the-scenes updates to ThemeDesigner settings on some wikis. Unfortunately this had unintentional effects in a few cases, incorrectly causing some colours to change. As part of the fix for this, some wikis may find their theme settings being rolled back by about 24-48 hours. This is unlikely to be noticeable on most wikis, but should help fix the strange behaviour. Apologies for this issue!
It also caused the wiki-wordmark in ThemeDesigner to disappear. (The image itself is still on the wiki, however.)
Ah, that's possible - I will make sure the team are aware of that. (The automated change was to switch some items to a newer format, but a few separate issues built on each other to cause problems. On the positive side, it means we're recoding several things to make it more robust.)
Also, we're aware that a few history pages are not displaying correctly at the moment, showing an "internal error" page instead. A fix is scheduled to go live for that tomorrow.
You mean to switch wordmarks to HTTPS?
Is that only on history pages where only anons edited?
Yes, and yes.
Kirkburn wrote: Yeah, 'upload via URL' is an option only some wikis have enabled. We'll give some thought to how to present security fixes, but it still wouldn't make sense to announce them before they go live (especially if they have no visible user-facing impact).
So, this 'upload via url' feature is requestable?
It used to be.
Yeah, it can be requested.
