About a month ago, I was made an Admin on the Dead Frontier Wiki. Things have been pretty much smooth sailing for me up until now when it comes to updating and managing the Wiki. However, I have encountered a particular problem just today which I cannot seem to find a solution for, no matter where I look.
The Dead Frontier Wiki's main page features a Sidebar in the form of a template. Among other things, the Sidebar contains a Polls section.
The sidebar links to the active poll questions on a separate page. On that particular page, I've designed a new poll, and I want to add formatting (i.e. bold, italic, underline, and specifically strikethrough) to the poll question as well as some of the answers. However, the default formatting codes don't seem to be working in the preview (I haven't tried seeing how it looks when linked to in the sidebar, but I have a feeling the results would be the same).
I attempted to add strikethrough to a word in one of the answers, but it didn't show up in the preview of the template (the formatting code seemed to disappear, but the text wasn't crossed out).
I also wanted to link two usernames in the poll question to their respective user profile pages, but the default code:
[ [ User : Username | (Displayed text) ] ] (minus the spaces)
--simply caused the names to disappear from the poll question altogether.
It's starting to get a bit frustrating, and I'd greatly appreciate any help that can be offered on the matter. Is there some way to make the formatting codes work within the poll, or is there some MediaWiki extension that I need?
(I would have posted this discussion question in the "Polls" topic area, but seeing as there were 0 active discussions there, I was worried that that topic wasn't visited very often and that I would consequently not get any answers for a long time. ^ ^;)
