Current template: https://araenyontest.fandom.com/wiki/Template%3ATexts
The template is meant to be used for in-universe books and texts, such as published scholarly works, notes, journals, etc.
I'm hoping to make the template a straightforward one: Everything in the second parameter will be given the Georgia font (so as to distinguish it from the default Arial font of the wiki). The first parameter will determine if the text from the second parameter will have illuminated initials or not.
If the first parameter is 'book' it will make use of the illuminated letters (all of which are titled "File:<insert capital letter here>.svg"). If the first parameter is empty, it will not make use of illuminated letters, and simply show the second parameter's text as-is (in the Georgia font). Additionally, each individual letter will have their own pre-determined dimensions, because some of the letters are narrower, and so blanket sizes like '80px' won't work for all of them. In theory this is a simple if/then command: If the second parameter begins with 'A', then activate "File:A.svg" using determined dimensions (similar to how this template works: Copyright Tags, which changes which image it uses based on a parameter input).
Lastly, I'm hoping to manually add situations for if a symbol happens to be the first letter of the second parameter, such as an apostrophe, a quotation mark, a dash, etc. In theory this should be as simple as adding it to the previously mentioned alphabet list: If the second parameter begins with <insert non-letter here>, then simply do not make use of illuminated lettering.
Would anyone know how to begin doing the above? I have only a rudimentary understanding of CSS coding.
