Last month, in this blog post, there was a suggestion for Biweekly livechats discussing the Portable Infoboxes.
Anything ever happen with that?

Guess not. Seems like the occasional comment on Community Council wiki is the most some of us will get.
You could ping Ducksoup on his message wall.
Will do!

Most people who answered that blog post didn't really to show any interest towards the bi-weekly chats. There's a good chance that's one of the reasons it didn't take "off". The other is probably that they've diverted considerable resources towards handling the javascript crisis among other projects.
Anyway, if you don't get any response by pinging Ducksoup, contacting them directly in S:C may spark some interest, especially if you can get a group of people interested in portable infoboxes to do the same.
Thanks, he already responded with 'soon'.
I'm getting down and dirty upgrading all my templates with the new syntax and trying out some LUA conversions at the same time, so it would be invaluable to have someone on chat once in awhile to ask questions of live. (Though you guys are great too).
How are the conversions going? I am hopeful we'll be able to add our own IDs and classes to everything soon (like we talked about at community connect). Right now it's a bit difficult to style everything like we want to but we are muddling our way through.
I'm waiting a bit before I go deep into PI conversions. I'd like to see a bit more flexibility.
I ran into a bunch of roadblocks converting my tooltip template into a PI.
Agreed. I'm trying to limit conversions to non-Lua, Infobox-specific templates or template parts.
Getting the styling right is the most difficult part because you can't reference a lot of things directly. Hopefully that'll change someday.
I started working on non-infobox templates, but it was too difficult with not much actual benefit (yet).

Lol, feel free. We can be noobs together. I've learned a whole lot this week already, and hope to combine conversions going forward.
We've created one non-infobox template with the PI code, but right now there's not much we can do with the data yet. So at the moment it's more of a "let's try this out and see if it works" thing...it's not really providing any new functionality for us.
