So, there is a feature that is being developed, called Insights. Looking at the history of that page, it's only existed for about three days now, and I have yet to see an announcement about it. I assume that it will be announced at some point in the near future, but I still want to weigh in.
On first glance, it seems pointless. The only thing, insofar as I can tell, that this does is list out pages missing certain items, namely pages without categories, pages without links to other pages, pages without images, and wanted pages. The reason I say this is pointless is, these lists already exist on Special:SpecialPages.
That's not to say that I think some sort of insights aren't a good idea. On the contrary, I think that having some sort of deeper look into problems on a wiki would be immensely useful for improving that wiki. I'm just not sure that the lists included here actually do that. I'm hopeful that Insights will be expanded to give actual statistics or metrics or some other useful data. How many people visit the wiki? How many are registered vs unregistered? On average, how long do they spend on the wiki? What kinds of articles do they read? How often do they edit? I'm not sure if the data are collected, or if Wikia would be willing to give its regular users access to the data, but it would be significantly more insightful than these lists.
