New wikia look petition
The new look sucks and it's harder to find somethings on the side bar because some of it got removed (for some wikias maybe not) and the old one was simpler and easyer to use not like the new look that's all fancy and harder to use. If you agree sign my petition to get the old look back
I'm starting to notice a pattern here....
Ever since the almost coming of the new skin, useless blogs are becoming more and more abundant. Now, I don't really believe the Facebook/Wikia theory, but Wikia is becoming a bit similar to FB, what with the Facebook Connect, the ability to leave comments on articles (in a blog style, and it's only on some wikis) and the abilities to Like and Share articles. (Credit to HavocReaper48 for pointing out some of the stuff mentioned here)

Pancakes.
I think it's time we take a break from all this skin arguments to discuss something of a more serious matter. Pancakes.
Pancakes are delicious comestibles which came many times aid our hunger during breakfasts. Pancakes are simply delicious, and you know it. Don't pretend you don't, it's impossible not to enjoy pancakes. Unless you prefer Waffles. You know, Pancakes and Waffles are the same as Pirates and Ninjas. They are both so freaking awesome, but some people tend to pick sides.
How do you like your pancakes? I like mine with lots of syrup.
A down and dirty comparison of the skins
With the approaching Oasis apocalypse right around the corner (Oasisocolypse? Wikiadammerung? Oh screw it), more and more wiki-toadies are coming out of the woodwork to say "I DON'T SEE ANYTHING RONG WITH TEH SKIN". Sadly things like Logic are a bit difficult to convey when people are shouting "teal deer" all the time, and for the users who come afterwards and don't know why there's so many abandoned wikis laying around, I figured it was time for some charts.

New look roll out -- meeting place
I'm creating this as a space for those who want to talk about today's changes to remove Monaco as a preference. We don't have an exact time for the change -- but it's likely to be after 10am Poland time.
There will be more blog posts to come about the changes, and we have all your feedback and comment from the past posts (as well as from email and talk pages).. but I can see that some want to talk to each other right now, and this post is to give an area for that.

User preferences for all English users has now been updated and the skin tab has been removed. The option to choose the New Look or Monobook (as well as show/hide ads), can be found on the user profile tab.

A Letter to the Wikia Community Team
Dear Wikia Community Team,
I am going to do my best to tell you this like a civilized human being. I will not swear, I will not type in all caps, and I will strive to make myself clear, concise, and understandable. I will also avoid such strong words as "hate," "stupid," "idiots," and "liars."
I believe I speak for most of the users when I say that I find the new look rather displeasing. Here are my reasons:
- I don't appreciate change.
- I don't like looking at those colors on a screen.
- I am having a hard time finding anything on a given wiki.
- Some of the menus are being cut out.
- The editing is kind of hard.
And, of course, the least appreciated change (at least from some wikis. Namely the ones I go to.):

Degrassi Wiki
There have been way too many trolls on the Degrassi wiki lately. People are putting up links to porn sites, and naked pictures of Rihanna. I don't know how to complain to wikia about this, so I'm writing a blog.
Also, the only active admin on the Degrassi wiki, ~holiday, has decided to leave the website, so we have no active admin. Could wikia please appoint an admin for us?

My predictions about Oasis
Despite the somewhat mixed reception at first, people will grow tired of it, and move to other wiki farms. In a desperation to get everybody back, they get rid of Oasis and bring back a slightly altered version of Monaco three months later. The original version of monaco will only be available to wikis stored on certain offsite servers. People will then find a way to hack the database specifically so that their wiki will be on those servers. After a few years, Wikia will bring Oasis back under a different name, and people won't really mind that much. Thus, proving that Oasis is the information age's equivalent to New Coke... unless...
