Any other information: There are editors so you can keep the Adoption Request going. Also, I missed a day of editing during trying to edit 7 days in a row. It was a mistake though as my edit didn’t process.
UPDATE: I now edited 8 days and I am asking users if they want me to adopt the wiki.
UPDATE 2: A user responded to me about the adoption and they said that they would want me to adopt the wiki. I also got 55 edits on the wiki now.
- Hi there! You've laid a lot of great groundwork here. Your edit history is sufficient for adoption, and you've made a first effort at creating a community discussion.
- But this wiki is really not eligible for adoption because it's so active. There at least two dozen people who have edited in the last month, and someone else tried to adopt this wiki on the same day you did!
- Clearly, the community needs to figure out its own direction. And it can't do that if you've created a blog posting, but haven't actually invited anyone to look at that blog.
- So I'm going to close this adoption request on the basis of the wiki's significant activity, and the fact that, practically speaking, people haven't had a reasonable chance to comment on the wiki's future.
- My advice is to keep your blog post open, but use Special:ListUsers to tell you everyone who's edited in the last six weeks or so. Leave a message on all their message walls, pointing them towards this blog post you've created. Then, leave it up for probably two weeks — since the long holiday weekend will probably mean that people aren't reasonably going to be at their computers.
- If people agree that you should be the new admin — or at least don't protest — come back in the middle of the month and file a new request, called Adoption:Windows Never Released Wikia (4), and we'll look at it again. In the meantime, keep on editing!
