Hello, is it possible for an admin to create a "global message" for all the user of a wiki? I mean one of those floating box messages, like "you have new messages" or those you'll see when a new global feature require the attention of everybody. Maybe this isn't a tool available, but I think it will be useful, I suggest it as a possible new feature! If it's not possible, can it be "mimic" with JS/CSS? leviathan_89 11:26, 24 September, 2011 (UTC)

The closest that I can think of this is the MediaWiki:Sitenotice. --Rayous(Talk) 11:29, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately sitenotice only works on Monobook, MediaWiki:Community-corner works on Oasis. Depending on who uses what skin on your wiki, you might have to change both -- RandomTime 11:42, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

I thought so, I asked because the community-corner sometimes is getting ignored... a sitenotice version for oasis will be helpful... hope the staff will think about it. leviathan_89 12:04, 24 September, 2011 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Communitymessages-notice-msg is the message in the lower left corner popup that appears when you edit MediaWiki:Community-corner, so it is really the global message. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 24 Sep 2011 10:18 PM Pacific
