Hi. I'm creating a couple of preload templates for use on F1 Wiki, and I'd like to know if there wouldbe any way to automatically preload a particular template when a new page is started from a particular Project page. For example, Project:Drivers contains several redlinks. When I click one of these to create the page, is it possible to automatically preload this template into the edit window when I creat a new page from this project page, and only from this project page?
Thanks

- Yes, it's possible. I don't see why you'd want to, though. Why not just install a preload dropdown system that appears on every page you edit? You can do it in a few minutes of copying and pasting from w:c:starwars:MediaWiki:Common.js, w:c:starwars:MediaWiki:Wikia.js and w:c:starwars:template:stdpreloads. czechout ☎ ✍ fly tardis 20:21: Mon 14 May 2012
- The quick and dirty thing you could do is to create an input box which you could place on this single page. Then, when you typed a title into it and pressed "submit" it would create a page with the preload of your choice. Every Wikia wiki that has a forum uses this method, pretty much by default. But if you want to look at the simple code, go to tardis:template:forums add box. It's not exactly the same thing as you're asking for, but it's a five-minute job. czechout ☎ ✍ fly tardis 20:27: Mon 14 May 2012
