Ray Charles Robinson was an American musician, known as Ray Charles (to avoid confusion with champion boxer Sugar Ray Robinson). He was a also pioneer in the genre of soul music during the 1950s by fusing rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues styles into his early recordings with Atlantic Records.

His only Disney roles included himself on NBC Salutes the 25th Anniversary of the Wonderful World of Disney, the Disney Sunday Movie episode "Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary Celebration" and The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson. He also played a Bus Driver in Spy Hard. His renditions of "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" and "Bein' Green" were heard in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap and The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years. In addition, another of his songs, "Hit the Road, Jack", was made into a music video on DTV, which aired on Disney Channel, and set to footage of Lend a Paw, In Dutch, Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip, and Puss Café.

He started to lose sight when he was six, and always wore sunglasses because of this. He participated in the song "We Are the World", with many other singers, including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Cyndi Lauper. He married and divorced twice and had twelve children.
