Young Royals is a Swedish coming-of-age romantic drama series created by Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung and Camilla Holter. The series is about students at Hillerska, a prestigious Swedish boarding school, trying to find their way in life. It was released on July 1, 2021, on Netflix.
On September 22, 2021, it was announced that Netflix renewed the series for a second season.[1] It was released on November 1, 2022.[2]
On December 14, 2022, it was announced that Netflix renewed the series for a third and final season.[3] The first five episodes were released on March 11, 2024, while the season finale was released on March 18, 2024.[4][5][6] A special, Young Royals Forever, was released alongside the final episode and featured a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the show through to the filming of the third season.[7]
Synopsis[]
The story centers around Prince Wilhelm. When he arrives at the prestigious boarding school Hillerska he finally gets an opportunity to explore his true self and find out what kind of life he really wants. Wilhelm starts dreaming of a future filled with freedom and unconditional love far away from the royal obligations - but when he unexpectedly becomes next in line for the throne his dilemma is heightened as he has to make a choice. Love or duty.
