Nintendo is a video game developer and publisher, based in Kyoto, Japan. It was established in September 1889, producing gamecards, before breking through at the electronic market during the 1970's.

In the late 1980's and early 1990s, Nintendo scored international successes with the NES and Super NES consoles. During mid 1996, Nintendo released the Nintendo 64 console, originally in Japan in June that year and later in North America in September the same year. On 1 March 1997, it launched the Nintendo 64 in Europe and Australia.
