Pandora is a Mount Olympus character[1] in Hesiod and Homer's myth. She débuts, with his appearance in around 700 B.C. and usually ends at around the 9th Century.
Pandora is a mortal character in Greek Mythology.
History[]
Pandora is a mortal, the daughter of Zeus and somewhat of Prometheus. Prometheus, when he stole the fire and gave it to the humans. Zeus lusted for revenge. So, he banished him to a mountain where he would be picked at by a vulcan everyday and every night, his scars would heal, to cause more pain afterwards. But Zeus didn't know that Prometheus had made a jar and collected all the bad form for the humans, Zeus looked around and found out that he gave it to his brother to guard. Zeus made all the gods and goddesses to send down and get the jar, but Epimetheus knew that Prometheus wouldn't want that. So, when Zeus came up with a clever idea, it began.
Zeus' idea was that they make a new human, but not just any human, a woman, a beautiful and dazzling woman that Epimetheus would likely be to accept. After she was created, the goddesses dressed her and made her look even more beautiful. So when Zeus commanded that Hermes, the messenger of the gods take down the woman to Epimetheus. Zeus tagged a long, unfortunately. Epimetheus was startled by the woman but still refused to accept any gifts. Then Zeus told him that he had his brother locked up on chains forever. Now, Epimetheus immediately married Pandora on the spot. Pandora then saw the jar (or box) and asked Epimetheus what was inside it. Epimetheus was curious too but told her never to open it.
Each day, both Pandora and Epimetheus grew more curious as to what was inside the box. Pandora told her husband again, "What's inside the box? I need to know." Epimetheus by this time was too curious to say no and told her to open the box. Pandora opened it and all the world's evils came out (Labour, Old age, work, etc.) Pandora immediately tried to close it but it was too late, all of it were out, taunting her and laughing as they left the box. She closed it anyway. But one evil was left behind at the bottom of the jar. Hope. It is still unknown why hope was left in the jar, it has not been explained, but my theory it is because we didn't need it, we all have hope inside us, but will you use it?
