Frida Boccara was a Morrocoan-born French singer who began her career at the age of 18. During her career she released several studio albums.
After a previous failed attempt, she was internally chosen to represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 in Madrid with the song "Un jour, un enfant", which gave the country its fourth win. It also shared the victory with the entries from The Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom - the only time in the Contest's history that this has happened.
She made two further unsuccessful attempts to represent her home country - in 1980 and 1981 - before dying on 1 August 1996 from a pulmonary infection.
