The Church of Sweden (Swedish: Svenska kyrkan) is a Christian denomination in Sweden. Established during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century, it is a Lutheran movement. It acted as official state church of Sweden until 1 January 2000.

In mid June 2014, Antje Jackelén became its first female archbishop. She had been appointed for the position in October 2013.[1]
