A text editor is a simple utility program for creating and modifying text files. This differs from a word processor which include more tools for visual formatting and other features, such as spell checking. However, more recent text editors have also added basic WYSIWYG capabilities.[1][2] Source-code editors used by programmers are typically part of a integrated development environment.[3]
