How do you do that
I wanted to make a history page for a fandom wiki thing. So I made "History". But it changes to "Page history" on the Top Navigation part. And if I try to make it show up as a different name in the Top Navigation, it changes from sending you to "History" to "Page history". Anybody know how to fix this or is this just a thing that happens?
I cannot scroll down further to my other 12 notifications, it's not my mouse, can someone tell me what's happening? Thanks :>
How do I make "win a minigame for points/coins"?
Like if I win a minigame, points/coins will be added to your Currency GUI
It's keep loading when I try to open it, I way for so long and it still load.
The footnote highlight color is the same in the dark theme as the light one, making text unreadable. I can't find any place to change it. Example attached.
I created a wiki for the worldbuilding of a fictional world I was working on almost 5 years ago. For numerous reasons, it wasn't used to its full extent at the time - however there was information there I didn't have a copy of anywhere else.
I've gone to start accessing it today and it appears to be completely gone. I can't find any version of it linked to my account or on wayback machine.
I've searched through my emails and don't seem to have received any warning that my wiki was going to be deleted due to inactivity, or I would have backed it up.
Is there any way for me to get my data back?
Lets say I make a post that has quotes in the title - for some reason Fandom now changes the quotes in the title to "
I'm getting the same happen when I type :> like a smiley face
Not talking about editing or actual coding, I don't do that, this is only pertaining to discussions
They appear instantly when im on a wiki page but it doesnt when im not
I'm a very active forum user and slightly inactive, but still occasionally on the regular pages, of a wiki where the most active members of staff only check in every month, give or take a few weeks. I'd really like to help my fellow users out, and seeing as there's currently a user that talks a little too much off-topic, and more on how they're supposedly "16" and their pet birds, I think we'd really need a staff member to work things out.
I'd tell the staff on Discord, now, but my parents don't allow me to use it. I do think it would be important, but not exactly necessary.
Now, how long does the staff have to be inactive for me to become an owner? How long do I have to wait so I can make sure the wiki's the best it can be?
I discussions, notifications doesn't load. Later I did go to wiki pages and it did say: "You have no notifications" and I got disappointed and mad. Fandom, Fix this glitch/bug please
When viewing contribution ratings. I see 2 contributors but when I check they don't contribute anything to the wiki
Hello, discussions have sadly changed to FandomDesktop recently, and currently OasisRevived doesn’t work for it yet. This has caused notifications to stop working in the D-board and discussions, along with making the discussions a lot worse.
Anyways, even with OasisRevived, notifications don’t work in pages, only in profiles. But if profiles are changed before this is fixed (because when it’s fixed it’s only for a little bit) nobody will be able to access their notifications.
Although this once again shows how much of a pain and unnecessary FandomDesktop is, I was wondering how long it will be until notifications finally work again.
Hello. I'm from the Dubbing Database Wiki (https://dubdb.fandom.com/wiki/) and lately we are having an issue with one of our templates. In Template:Actor list/character, we want to make it so that if you input a file name that doesn't exist, it outputs the image File:Unknown - head.png.
It already does that when you just type in "|file =", but no such luck if you type some invalid file name in after that.
There has to be an easy way to handle that, right? But I have zero idea on how to pull it off.
We have this coded into Template:Cast list/character, at least, but I was not the one who made the template, and that admin is currently inactive. Looking at our MediaWiki:Fandomdesktop.css page gives me at least a hint, but I still don't have any idea on how to transfer that to this template too.
Thanks in advance!
Hello.
I am an admin on Alphabetty Saga in French and English.
I would like to have a table regouping all the data from the different levels of the game (e.g. required score, number of moves, blockers) and use it in the level articles' infoboxes (as values of parameters such as score=, moves=, blockers=).
I am also a contributor to RimWorld Wiki (not part of Fandom), and there the Template:Q exists and allows to get the parameter value on one page from another page.
Its code is quite simple:
{{#vardefine:q|{{#if:1|{{#show: {{{1}}} | ?{{{2}}} | link = none }}}}}}{{#ifeq:{{#var:q}}-|-|{{{3|}}}|{{{5|}}}{{#var:q}}{{{4|}}}}}Syntax
{{Q|page|property|default text|suffix|prefix}}Required parameters:
Page: The name of the page to be queried against.
Property: Show the value of this property.
Optional parameters:
Default text: Text to be displayed if the query has nothing to display. Typically this is N/A or a dash.
Suffix: Text to be displayed immediately after the query result.
Prefix: Text to be displayed immediately before the query result.
The problem is it uses the "#show" parser function, that is part of the extension Semantic MediaWiki, that Fandom does not want to add on request...
I look a bit around and found no real alternatives (except maybe Extension:Cargo, but I'm not sure how to use it).
So, does anyone know how I could export my data from a table to infoboxes located on other pages (or the opposite) on Fandom wikis ?
Kind regards.
