Malwarebytes' primary product is a malware scanner. Other services don't receive as much attention and won't work as well as alternatives.
And on the topic of malware scanning, Windows Defender is actually pretty good and chances are you don't actually need an additional AV running constantly on top of that. It just eats up more resources for negligable protections. Malwarebytes is good for just doing one-off manual scans, but when you're done with it you should close it completely.
Websites like VirusTotal, JoeSandbox, and HybridAnalysis are also good tools.
For blocking ads and trackers, I've been using Ublock Origin for years. You can customize what you want to block. If you wish to keep seeing ads but just want to hide certain page elements like cookie banners, you may do so. Even it states "uBlock Origin is not just an 'ad blocker', it's a wide-spectrum content blocker with CPU and memory efficiency as a primary feature."
It's also free/open source too if you happen to care about using software that's more open in its development.
Use the right tool for the right job and please take steps to protect your online privacy and safety. Even the FBI advised people to do so.
Blocking ads and trackers on the DNS level with either your own selfhosted solution like a PiHole or using NextDNS or a similar setup can also be interesting to check out, but it's a more "advanced" measure.
It's generally not worth the effort for advertisers to try to tackle the smaller amount of people who use a hardened browser setup, custom DNS etc to get them to see ads. They just focus on the general population of people who don't do anything. Plus, aggressive anti-blocking attempts are counter-productive; how many times have you tried to check a news story or something, only to see "please disable your adblock" or "please subscribe" and just go back and look for a different source?
And it only takes 20 minutes for a skilled dev to find out how a page tries to block adblockers and find a way to circumvent it. It's a cat-and-mouse game Fandom knows it can't win.
