Notice that you're changing the subject. Previously, you were saying the feature never existed at all and that they lacked the expertise to make it. Now, you're admitting that - not only did they have the expertise to make - they actually made it. You're just sour about how it was implemented.
They did have it, and I made frequent use of it. See Special:Insights.
Your prediction seems realistic to me but not for the cockamamie reasons you provided; development projects almost always have desired features that go unimplemented. Your claim that they lack the expertise is easily refuted by the fact that they already had this feature on the legacy platform.
Hi Yaujj75. I recently submitted a feature request for this, and a developer emailed me back, saying it had been added to their development queue. I'd imagine it will be at least several months before it's implemented, since they probably have higher priorities.

Before my wiki transitioned to UCP, I made frequent use of the "Most Popular Pages" feature under Special:Insights in order to prioritize pages for improvement.
Currently, I can only see the number of page views for the top 10 pages under Wiki Analytics. However, I've found that the low-hanging fruit tends to be in the top 50 or 100 pages, not the top 10.
