Hello, I'm the bureaucrat of a low-traffic wiki called "Cocotama Wiki." I only need some technical help for this "community management"...if it's possible.
To start off by putting this simply: By dumb luck, I somehow successfully became the bureaucrat of the Cocotama Wiki I was trying to adopt. It started off before they became admin. After my persistence and patience, somehow I was able to get this position. And I really needed it because...the other bureaucrat, who initially adopted it away from me, is making questionable perma-blocks on users who make potentially improvable edits or, likely, to end a dispute without due process. Worst of all, they *never* speak. And that dates before they became admin.
And according to this blog about 'abusive admins'...it seems they never want to get involved in all these "bad admin" shindigs.
So, I'm going to have to be the "good cop" on the wiki by using my proper common sense to process all the bans that my admin 'associate' is making. It's a temporary solution, but it has to do in a logical sense.
Now we reach the question: How can I automate a message on banned users on the wiki so that there is a chance for them to appeal their "block" once my 'associate' starts dropping the hammer instantly? I want those users to know that they have a chance to appeal their ban so that they can continue contributing on the series they loved. The problem is, it needs to be in a distinctive way they would notice it. Like a notification, or something. A message is a simple solution, but could it be automated or something?
After all, the wiki I'm managing...is "kids' oriented." And just by having an admin on the wiki just using their power to block innocuous edits...Would be bad. Very bad.
I have no idea how Fandom was able to let them adopt the wiki, and since there is no hope to actually "communicate" with them, I need an answer to this temporary solution I request.
