So something that I've noticed that is a little annoying, is that whenever someone edits using the Visual Editor as opposed to Source Editor, Fandom automatically changes links directing towards notable Fandom Wikis (Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Disney) to the special shortcut for them.

For example:

Now normally this wouldn't really be an issue, but we have them set as URLs and not shortcuts for a reason and it's because clicking on URLs opens the webpage in a new tab whereas shortcuts don't. Because we deal with a lot of lists, it's better for them to open in new tabs so the user doesn't lose their spot and can return easily.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Can someone help me figure out how to make the file name for videos not automatically show up in the galleries like how images work? I.e, with images you add:

• Example.jpg|Display Text

And only the image and display text show up, but with a video doing the above results in the video, display text, AND the file name showing up which just leads to duplicate text or random text unless people name videos in a specific way (but even doing that has a different caption text color than images).

Tldr; I want videos to look the same as images inside galleries.

I have just a quick question, is there anyway to fix the uneven spacing when you add a level 2 bullet point? For example if I put:

All five examples are evenly spaced vertically, however, if one of them becomes a level 2 bullet point then suddenly it looks something like this with a lot of extra space between that "** Example" and the one directly below it:

• ** Example

• * Example

• * Example

PS, I don't know how to make a level 2 bullet point with this discussion editor, but it looks something like that ^^

Is there any way to make that even when using level 2 or 3 bullet points? Basically, I want every bullet point to have the same vertical spacing, the level 2 bullet point should just be further right like this.

This is kind of an out there idea, but I run a wiki for characters archetypes and on some pages on the wiki references/citations are used to mark how many official uses of that particular character type there are. I.e, Tsundere has 50 references so there's 50 official characters labelled by their creator as tsundere, and so on.

I was thinking it could be interesting to make a sortable table that automatically updates with a live count of how many references (official uses) each page has. Something like:

{{RefCount|Tsundere/Characters}} and it would output "50" because there's 50 references on page "Tsundere/Characters". And if a new reference got added it would update to 51, and so on. Does that make sense?

I'm not sure if that's possible or not, but it's something I often do when working on Google sheets.

I am messing around with some ideas and I can't seem to understand why this isn't working. This is the code I have currently:

{{{1}}} <ref>[{{{3}}} {{{2}}}]</ref>

Where:

• Parameter 1: Displayed Text

• Parameters 2: URL Link

• Parameters 3: URL Displayed Text

However the issue is that Parameters 2 and 3 are getting ignored and just show up as {{{2}}} and {{{3}}} no matter what I add when using the template. For example:

{{Template|Example|Example|https://example.com/}}

Gives me:

Example [1]

 [{{{3}}} {{{2}}}]

But then removing the <ref></ref> from the template makes the link display as expected:

Example Example

Is there a way to make this work, or can you just not use refs inside templates no matter what?
