On my wiki the username colours are set up for every area except the forum post area, what would be the code for that?
This is the current code
a[href$=":user"], a[href$="/user"] {
color: #cf48a2;
}

@Andrewds1021 I find that when I'm trying to search Google on how to do certain things on Wikia, the only things that come up are consistently 4 years ago, it's no wonder people do it
While I'm here, I figured out what I was seeing on the wikis (it'd be fixed now though). There was some kind of glitch with tables that would push the right column really far to the bottom so it couldn't be seen on the actual page. It was quite easy to do and silly that it was
They both work well on both desktop and mobile! (and both look the same visually)
Here's the first one
Here's the second one. The colorbox has a border so it looks weird (it looks odd on dark mode in general too so probably will remove the border)
I was thinking I'd maybe remove the text and have it on a different row since I'll probably regret the text visibility in the future, but only new color pages will receive that treatment for now
I will be using these codes, thanks both of you so much!
@Andrewds1021 @HumansCanWinElves Alright thanks! I'll try it out and tell you if it works
Here's the colorbox template: Template:Colorbox | Crayola Wiki | Fandom
Here's a color page: Chestnut | Crayola Wiki | Fandom
The table at the top showing the color more clearly was likely to be a temporary thing anyway, but I do want it to be visible on mobile. And using the portable infoboxes seems to be the best way (design-wise it's probably better too) to show the colors. The colorbox is a bit too small for me. I had the thought of just putting multiple colorboxes in a row but it looks weird. I'm not good with javascript and I'm not sure what the navigation and data tags mean.
My wiki is like any other wiki I'm just asking if there's literally anything that is possible. The colorbox template works on my mobile when it's in the portable infobox, and my mobile is fussy. Can I not make the colorbox template bigger? And I'm not creating 500+ CSS rules.
I've done the above on a portable infobox with the "colorbox" template, however I would love if the color alone could span the entire infobox width. Is there code that I can directly put into the infobox to make the whole section one color? Or do I need a bigger version of the colorbox template? Thanks.
(This is for the Crayola wiki which is about colored crayons)
@HumansCanWinElves Ah okay! I might start doing that, thanks
@Than-Gee-Door @HumansCanWinElves Yeah I can see how it's just a built-in limitation. And I can't help but rely on colors for a wiki literally about colors sorry haha. Might end up replacing the boxes with images of the colors if there's no alternative.
@Princess123rd Games needn't be gendered
I've done the above, and I can see them on desktop, though I've found that I cannot see the colors of the color column on my mobile.
This is my color code:
| style="background:#ED0A3F;" |Red
And I've tried "fandom-table" and "wikitable" (I'm not sure if these do anything or if there's more table types)
I've also found that the colorbox template doesn't work on my mobile (Template:Colorbox | Crayola Wiki | Fandom)
Is there any way to fix this?
I'd like to do this for my wiki! I tried downloading templates from Wikipedia but they don't seem to work. Thanks!
@Pafton @Digifiend I wasn't actually aware of fandomdesktop.css, copying the code to there brought it back to normal, thank you!
I'm an admin and we USED to have colored usernames before the update, but after the update it's not working, not sure what happened. Is it still done in the css? (I'd also like an example for coloring a whole group of roles e.g. moderator because the code was coloring individual usernames before)
@HumansCanWinElves Oh! Thanks so much! It works now!
@Tupka217 The notices were mainly for "spoilers" and other disclaimers about the page that I wanted to be there, I won't use it for them editing notices
I've noticed that stub, delete, spoiler etc templates don't appear on mobile. Is there a way to:
1. Make them appear on mobile, or
2. Add code to the template for a mobile-only version that it would switch to if the user is on mobile
Thanks!
Here's some proof of stuff (if you're interested and so I can reference here later)
January and recreated May page
July page and July user and July user with bad name
September page
I believe there was more but can't find at the moment
No, it's someone who can change IP address and they recreate the page every few months. I've blocked everyone who's made the page so far (most have super inappropriate usernames regardless). It's the exact same text every time. No one wants this page, it's about the death of the youtuber that the wiki is informing about, which isn't appropriate either. I considered just leaving it there because I can't really seem to do much about it. I can contact Fandom about it yeah.
edit: the users usually become globally blocked after a week or so and if you look at their other edits they'e obviously vandalising
Oh my god, that's how they've been doing it?
Hi! Tried blacklisting the titles and original post but I guess I did it wrong? Also contacted VSTF. It's been created again, would like someone to guide me on blacklisting titles.
