That's the gist of it. Currently, our code for weight in the infobox looks like this:

Now, if we have weight_unit is set to lb/lbs (or left blank, for current status quo of using pounds), the lbs unit will be used. Otherwise, if kg is specified, that will be used.

We are currently planning to consider changing from imperial to metric units in that template, and to do so I considered using a field not visible in the infobox, only wikitext.
The idea is we would have a weight_unit= field to specify the input unit to use (lb or kg). This would not be visible when the user views it, as it affects the unit used to display the value displayed in the weight= field.
How can I do this?
As you mentioned, it could disappear - but only if the screen (or window, if mobile website is opened on a PC) is wide enough so that the "Try Fan Central" text appears on the top bar.
Our navbox code is still from 2012, and still doesn't use modules either. This was what we noticed on an internal discussion:

Normally, navboxes are hidden on mobile, but the former shows on mobile view with quote sign in what is supposed to be name= parameter in the {{navbox}} definition. (The latter navbox is present for debugging purposes, as it was not affected.)
Is there a misconfiguration in that parameter?

Making it in the project page would be useless because it is a message that appears when editing a css/js file.
For the record, the edits were made in 2012, back when admins can edit that MediaWiki page.
The MediaWiki:Clearyourcache page in our wiki contains a link to UserStyles.org back when it was still relevant for the wiki in 2012. However, I am not able to edit it to remove the reference to it. (This also means that the message still refers to Konqueror browser while other wiki's clearyourcache pages no longer mention it.) What now?

Salting is the Wikipedia term for create protection.
And the rationale for the ability for salting an userpage is that page creation protection in other namespaces is still possible. Furthermore, this appears to be a bug - the titlebar do say "Change protection settings for [page name]" while the body of the page is the aforementioned placeholder "This user has not filled out their profile page yet." text.
AbuseFilter is already enabled on the GT Wiki, but not yet used
Because IP addresses don't have message walls anymore, there's no way to warn them either.
You should be able to salt an userpage anyway.
An IP is continuously creating an userpage of a globally locked user to presumably insult them. I've deleted them multiple times, but attempting to access protection page when the page is deleted gives me "This user has not filled out their profile page yet.", the blank userpage placeholder message; this prevents me from create-protecting/salting the page. This does not occur when the page still exists. What now?

An user of a wiki I'm a content mod of pointed out that a file that, despite it being used on a page, because it is used in a <gallery>, it is not treated as used by the File Usage list in the file's page. Is this an issue or what?
Nevermind, we changed it to ul and moved it from wikia.css to common.css.
