@Muchos thank you for double-checking, I've figured out the bug report form. Nowadays a simple dumb <form> is not enough and so much JavaScript is needed to make a feedback form work, oof. And I wasn't loading all JavaScript (very aggressive uMatrix setup).
Turns out the <imagemap> problem is well known to staff, but it's not high on the priority list.
The linked form (both links lead to the same form) is simultaneously about reporting inappropriate ads and about reporting copyright infringement. It's not about bug reports at all. Very weird, and not worth my time, to be honest.

How do I disable notifications about announcements from a wiki which I'm not interested in? I've done drive-by edits on multiple wikis and I would like to not get notified of their announcements.
Turns out this isn't a bug. Even if the account has the bot flag, it is not allowed to make edits marked as "bot" edits, if the bot password used (Special:BotPasswords) does not have the "High-volume editing" grant.
So I just needed to check one checkbox on the Special:BotPasswords page to fix my issue.

After that, the bot hasn't been able to authenticate for a while, because Special:BotPasswords was introduced (here I make an educated guess that the wiki version was upgraded). I've noticed the breakage some time after 2021-05-03 and on 2021-05-19 (note the "test edit"), I finally got around to fixing it,

However, the edits made by the bot via a Pywikibot script are no longer marked as "bot" edits. As such, new edits can not be filtered with "Human (not bot)" filter in Special:RecentChanges, for example.

Andrewds1021, the difference from my previous question is that the wiki in question got migrated to UCP (aka MediaWiki 1.33.3). So the whole editor situation has changed.
This seems like a bug.
Examples, where this can be observed:
The extra empty paragraph adds unnecessary vertical empty space to articles. Use "Inspect" in your browser to see the issue in the HTML code.

After migration to UCP, the UI for the extension CharInsert is no longer available in the VisualEditor, not even in "VisualEditor - source mode". Unfortunately, this makes inserting references and templates on the wiki harder, requiring users to type out or copy-paste the ref tag and the template wikitext. Before migration this was a single click.

Side note: CharInsert is available in "Source editor", but this is not the default setting. Which means that 99.9% of users won't be able to use it, making it useless. And even then, it is now placed below the editor and below the "Save changes" button, which makes it less convenient than before migration to UCP.
@Parkour2906 thanks. Unfortunately, CSS is only for touching up the visuals. I'm interested in functional additions to the VisualEditor.
P.S. Off-topic: is there any way to figure out where a wiki is in the queue for UCP upgrade? The wiki I admin on is still on MediaWiki 1.19.
