Which we have done, yet received no response as of yet.
I understand that wikia needs to make changes to comply with COPPA (something I have asked them to do for who knows how long now) but it seems as though staff are just targeting any wiki with animation and stating that its targeted at audiences than include persons under 13 years of age. Frankly I dont care about most wikis, the only one I do care about is the Fairy Tail Wiki. Fairy Tails target audience is 13 and up, not the usual Shonen 10+. This is because Fairy Tail includes nudity, sexual references and other material you would find in a PG-13 rated movie. In no way shape or form should anyone under the age of 13 ever read or watch Fairy Tail. Hell, the OVAs cast aside any hint of censorship there ever was in the series. The focus of the 4th OVA was several of the women of the series, naked and sitting in a hot spring. Almost nothing was left to the imagination. And yet staff has decided that because Fairy Tail is an animanga, it must be aimed at children under 13.
I think before staff makes any kind of decision on where to shut off anonymous editing, they should actually sit down and discuss with the wikis what their series is about and whether it is truly aimed at an audience that includes persons under 13. Many animanga series are most certainly not targeted at this age, series such as Darker than Black and Fairy Tail contain many adult elements not suited for young audiences and have been appropriately labeled as such by distributors. Darker than Black is about the most violent series I have watched while Fairy Tail is the most perverted thing I have ever read. Certainly, there are people under 13 who read or watch Fairy Tail but that is the fault of the parents as while most shonen manga is rated for everyone to enjoy, Fairy Tail is specifically labeled T for teen. It is not different than young children who watch R-rated movies. Certainly there are many children who watch R-rated movies, but that is not the target audience for the movie and the parents are at fault for allowing it. It is not right to punish wikis such as Fairy Tail wiki for possibly having younger fans when the series comes with a clear label stating that its audience is 13 and up.
