Hey i want protest here fandomdesktop its ruin everything?!! Cause page broken also i want oasis and hydra back?! Please bring them back?!
I am pretty sure that i broke the wiki record but idk, since my article comments are 330+
I forgot where’s the email new password
It's totally bad, the design, graphics, EVERYTHING. I tried OasisRevived but it doesn't work. Also, the add photos button is gone, literally GONE. Now I have to go edit it the hard way. Welp, I guess I'll have to deal with this for a long time then...
Here are some memories from Oasis:
I miss the old design, Now we have the new crappy layout..
Sure is great to pull up a wiki that used to be vibrant with background images, a logo to take you back to the main page at the top and images and for most of it to all just be "gone" because of an "update" to the website that has removed features in favor of forcing you to hardcode them in on your end (or at least that's what I was told when I brought up this problem a couple weeks ago). And then everything has MASSIVE contrast clash besides, this isn't a desktop look, it's a mobile look, how about we call it that and go back to the old look for people not browsing the site on mobile devices? This feels less like a brand relaunch and more like a brand torpedoing
EDIT: Apparently I wasn't using oasis revived to start with, I was on normal oasis for some reason and revived was disabled because of ublock origin blocking smth idk.
Okay so I was making a discussions post on the BGT Wiki informing every editor and/or visitor on the migration to Fandom Desktop. At the end of the post I linked the wikis rules for anyone interested in reading them, but before I did that I checked what the protection on the page was, but when I clicked that I noticed another button between the Move & Protect Button known as Purge. As an admin on that wiki I clicked the analytics in order to look at them and clicked the lighting button expecting to be taken to a lighting settings, but it just changed the lightings so I changed it back to the original lighting. But I hadn't tested or looked into the Purge button and I am wondering what it does, however I don't care to test out clicking on said button until I know for certain what it does in case it's some other form of delete or anything else that I don't want to click for any kind of reason. Granted, I could create a blank page and press the Purge button on it, before deleting it, but I don't really want to do that, but if I were to do that and make a page that already existed and click Purge on the new variant would it possibly work as a merging button and merge the two together?
Edit: For anyone else who is interested and is yet to test what the button does and is confused as to what it does, I've just tested myself by creating a page known as Test as I changed my mind after making this post. For anyone interested the Purge Button takes you to a settings screen of sorts and asks if you want to clear the cache of the page, if you change your mind click back and go back on the page but if you still want to purge click Ok. Beneath this is a message which states 'Purging a page clears the cache and causes the most current revision to appear', so if your reading a page and someone else is editing if you click the purge button and click ok when just as they complete their edit the page will have their edit added to what you were previously reading.
Will the discussions be receiving an update too? I'd honestly be surprised if it did, because they got a big update last year.
Just.............why? This is such garbage. I'm honestly considering just leaving Fandom because this is gonna negatively impact how I monitor the fandoms that I moderate on. Thanks Fandom for ruining your brand.
Does anyone know a code the make fandom look like the old version? I can’t find lots of things with this new look
With converting my wiki to be suitable for FandomDesktop, I've noticed a few things. One is that pages are no longer translucent and two is that the header image isn't ideal, and even when you remove the header, it leaves behind a gradient.
Does anyone know some CSS that could remove this header gradient and/or make every article have a translucent background?
I've found this script which makes the front page translucent, but no other pages.
Everything just warped, and how do i change it back
