When I type [[Category:Example]] to a template or page, they always be in the very bottom of every page. What code do I use to prevent this? I need problem-solving help now, please.
I am an Admin of the Team Ico Wiki and I am attempting to rename "Category:Browse" to "Category:Team Ico Wiki". I was contacted by the wiki's manager Tephra about renaming this top-level category. I was told that non-descriptive words for top-level categories hampers SEO and that the name of the wiki should be used instead. I am unable to find a way to rename the category as I can do with renaming pages. Is there another method I can use?
We have a lot of messy infobox category tags floating about the wiki I help run. A lot of them are tied to the infoboxes, but we don't want every category used for the infoboxes having their own tag to clog up the category list. Problem is that the person (maybe people) who made the templates we're using left the community years ago, and didn't leave instructions for the current staff.
I know there are probably instructions on this in the main infobox pages, but if anyone has direct instructions I don't have to go hunting for, that'd be appreciated.
I noticed that in the drop-down list there seems to be a missing option to be able to rename/move a page to the category page namespace for the purpose of keeping the page's edit history and any users watch history. I checked both on Wikipedia and a wiki on the newer UCP platform and the option exists there, so I assume that is just another one of the limitations being on the older Mediawiki platform.
In the meantime though as it will likely be a number of months before any wikis start getting moved over to UCP, is there any way to manually copy a pages edit history from one to another?
I was going through and organising categories and subcategories, when I noticed an oddity where one of the templates wasn't showing in the correct category page that I've assigned it to. Instead, it's still showing in a previous category page, despite how on the template page it shows the correct associated category.
The template in question is here: w:c:sky-children-of-the-light:Template:= (Which it along with its doc subpage was copied and then edited from w:c:templates:Template:=)
And the category that the template is showing up in when it shouldn't be is here: w:c:sky-children-of-the-light:Category:Data_templates
I'm certain I'm not going crazy though I'd very much appreciate for someone else to have a look over and confirm there sin;t something I'm just missing.
I made a disambiguation page which I added the "Disambiguation" template to, then when I saved the edits, it automatically put the page in the "Templates" category. I want to take it out of there but it doesn't show up as a category in the edit section, so what should I do?
https://fliplinestudios.fandom.com/wiki/Papa%27s_Hot_Doggeria_HD?action=history I tried adding categories from the article but they were moved to the source code and don't render. We used to have 0 uncategorized pages. Someone needs to fix the categories.
I was on the Starkid Wiki a little while back & noted that they had a feed/list of all their cast alphabetically ordered on their cast page. I was hoping to do this on my own characters page but am unsure how to do so. Does anybody know how? Thanks, A
Hello! I'm having problems with categories and templates. I have an infobox template that automatically adds a category to every page it's on, but I also have an example infobox on its documentation, causing the documentation to appear in the category. Is there a way to prevent the documentation from being in the category?
there's a problem on fandom
i can't view the history of categories and on the dan-ball wiki, i can't comment on pages
Im trying to add a larges number of images to a category. Is there any way to do this instead of going to each image's page and adding the category there?
Also, I need to make another category and it will look very similar to the previous category but no the same exactly. Is there any way to do this instead of adding the individual pages to the category?
Any help appreciated.
Hello. I would like to display the full list of pages inside two categories on the hopepage. I've seen it done in other wikis but can't tell how it is done.
Something like this:
- 1site - 4site
- 2site - 5site
- 3site - 6site
Any help is appreciated.
This has happened a few times, and there are still pages kicking around in other categories which they've been removed from as long as a week ago.
Can someone please tell me what's going on here and how I can fix it for the future?
I have this page that has the category "needs fixing" i added the category to remember what pages i need to fix, after i fixed the page i went to classic editor to delete it, but it wont show up, i've tried everything i could think of, deleting and putting back the page, going into source editor, etc. but nothing works, can someone help?
